Good cheap card
Pros: Under $20 after rebate
Cons: First card failed after a few minutes.
Overall Review: The first card I received lasted a few minutes and then the display went crazy and then it went to black. Got the replacement in a week. This one seems fine. My first DVI card and the text is clearer than the onboard VGA.
Looks brand new
Pros: No dust inside at all. Lightscribe dvd burner instead of dvd-rom as described. Mounting screws for additional drives included. Win 7 Pro (32 bit, 64 bit) discs included.
Cons: Case a little bigger than expected.
Overall Review: With the end of Microsoft's support for XP approaching, I had to find a Win 7 machine to take its place. After reading and watching reviews of Win 8 when it was released, there was no way I was going to put up with that OS. I had been using a Win 7 machine to get used to it and there were no surprises when I got this one. (Although I did get a BSOD after I loaded all my programs so that was alarming. But replacing the Vista video driver with a Win 7 driver took care of that.) As soon as I got it I pulled off the side panel (which just requires pulling up on a handle and sliding it out). It looked brand new. I added a 2nd hard drive and the screws for that were provided. There are also screws for 5 1/4" drives. Before I received the system I had ordered a dvd burner to go inside so I was pleasantly surprised that instead on a dvd-rom drive, there was a Lightscribe burner installed. Now I have a spare for that.
Refurbished?
I ordered a refurbished hp tower and when I got it, I pulled offf the side panel because I'm going to add a 2nd hard drive. I could not believe how clean it was inside. It looks brand new. I wonder if it had been sitting in some company's store room waiting for another person's pc to break but that never happened. The description said it would come with a dvd-rom drive so I ordered a burner from newegg before it came but it turned out there was a lightscribe burner already installed so I guess I'll have 2 burners in the case.
