amazing
Pros: been using tuners since 1999. before this one, i used a signal amplifier with my system. i had heard everyone drooling over how amazing this thing tuned analog. after hooking it up, i couldn't figure what all the fuss was about. it still had a little interference and stuff. turns out, when i removed the amplifier the signal was crystal clear. and let me add the signal is split at least once before it hits the tuner. this thing is amazing. i've heard people have issues with it. but it is by far the best tuner i've ever owned.
Cons: i've spent thousands at newegg over the years. and this is the first review i've ever written. this product is that good. one con that is being able to pick up encrypted QAM. but you know as well as i do that's neither newegg or hauppauge's fault.
Overall Review: e6400, 4gb ram, and the 750gb samsung this records to are all more than adequate. i honestly can't think of one flaw and no i don't work for hauppauge.
My experience
Pros: none
Cons: purchased this to replace an aging power supply in an HTPC. this unit will not even power up. despite the fact that i've owned it for over a month, i just tried to turn it on today and won't work at all. will have to deal with Sunbeamtech's 12 hour a week RMA service to get another one. avoid this brand like michael jackson avoids partners of legal consenting age.
Overall Review: shouldn't have skimped.
excellent case
Pros: i'm using this case and while everything is tight. you can fit everything in it as advertised. in my lc-16 there are 7 hard drives, 1 bluray drive, a large powersupply (rocketfish 700w i believe), 1 sapphire 4670, 2 hauppauge hvr-2250s, an avermedia m780, an avermedia hd dvr, an encore wireless n card, an asus atx motherboard, and a 120mm aftermarket zalman cpu fan.
Cons: should have come with the HD fans for the price. but i knew they didn't come with it when i ordered it. best case i've ever owned.
Overall Review: also for the creative, there are two slots under the bottom hard drives that are too small for 3.5" drives large enough for a 2.5" ssd or some usb stuff which is what's in mine.
good card
Pros: does exactly what it says and what is expected. i may get a couple dropped frames while it's recording but it doesn't happen very much. i have no idea why, but i can play modern warfare 2 online with no problems (latency issues), but in rockband while playing i had to change the video delay to about 60-65ms
Cons: other port should be configurable as another hdmi.
Overall Review: e7500 4gb ram
