This review is from: Fluke Networks MS2-KIT Network Cable Tester Kit with Probe
Pros: This is a great kit. The MS200 scanner just cannot be beat out there. Yes it is pricey but in this case you sure do get what you pay for. Included in this KIT is a Strong sturdy case that holds all your networking/Cable testing gear and protects it. 2-7 Remotes that allow you to map up to 8 separate RJ45 Endpoints at the same time from the switch - No more running back and forth to move the remote end. And all ends are identified at the MS200 so it is easy to map out the area and label at the switch accordingly. 2 AA Batteries for the MS200 and one 9v for the probe. RJ45 to 8 Alligator clips for individual PIN testing. COAX and RJ45 Connections to connect equipment to patch panels and termination points. You can feel the quality in the equipment the first time you hold them, and I was in love at first use. Simple easy to read details on the large screen. This screen will PIN out both ends of the cable and give you a length, show shorts, and crossed pairs. Since it shows both pin sets near and far sides... It is real easy to see if you do have a bad crimp or connection then you know exactly which side it is on and can correct the issue quickly without guessing where the issue is. This set paid for itself within the first 3 jobs by narrowing down several issues in wiring someone else had run and saved me hours of troubleshooting in a Department Store install and upgrade.
Cons: The only issue I have with this set is the IntelliTone Pro 200 probe. I knew that there were some issues with the probe based on my research prior to purchase. This seems to have trouble identifying one Cat6 cable when there are many present like at a patch panel or switch. It does also feel to be the cheapest part in your hand. I will likely upgrade this at a later point. But I wanted the case that had the space for the probe so that all my test equipment was in the same case. And the MS-200 only had a soft pouch... Scary for a $500 Scanner for my taste
Other Thoughts: I have found through some common sense that most of the backwash and lack of ability to narrow down a single wire at the panel by just reversing the position of the Toner and probe. If you Tone from the switch and then probe the areas you suspect the wire to be then the probe does work fairly well.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Nice looking, Good specs on paper
Cons: No way can this printer hold up to 100,000 pages monthly as stated by HP… NO WAY !
If you plan to use this in any setting other than an occasional home printer, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FRUSTRATION... move on and find another printer.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this printer from NewEgg through our company account. This was purchased for a Law firm secretary that prints all the time. This printer is rated at, and I quote directly from the specs page… “Up to 100,000 pages monthly” which is the EXACT reason this model was chosen.
This printer does not even come close to that rating. Considering how many times this printer JAMS repeatedly in a day, it would be a MAJOR Accomplishment to be able to print even half that number… As long as you are willing and able to sit right by the printer and reset it every few moments to keep the print jobs going.
DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS MODEL… Known jamming issues ! If I could get my money back I would in a minute. Don't make the same mistake I did.
