Most Critical Review

Work but you must be willing to make consessions!

MagicJack Plus + Free 1YR Subscription Magic Jack + Free Local & Long Distance -With or w/o Computer NEW in BOX
MagicJack Plus + Free 1YR Subscription Magic Jack + Free Local & Long Distance -With or w/o Computer NEW in BOX

Pros: Inexpensive local and limited long distance, includes full features. Works slightly better than the Nettalk device.

Cons: Voice quality much like a cheap cell phone, nothing close to wired telephone service. ALL CALLS require area code when calling. Porting your home tel. number costs an upfront fee and re-occuring yearly cost as well. Sometimes completing calls are slow. Limited amount of calls per month (this won't affect most users) Requires a robust internet provided with good throughput. (Forget 1.5mbs and slower)

Overall Review: This would be a much more usable product is you could dial local numbers without needing to enter the area code. Also, the company would be better served by adding a toll free tech support number or at least a human you can talk to.

No XP support is a deal breaker, Poor Dell Customer Service

Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" Full HD 1920 x 1200 60Hz 8ms DisplayPort VGA DVI-D 4xUSB 2.0 Pivot Swivel Height Adjustable LED Backlit IPS Widescreen LCD Monitor

Pros: Cheap Price, LED back lighting, good looking

Cons: No XP Support, Dell Customer Service is very bad Quality control seems poor

Overall Review: I purchased this monitor at a local electronics store and sorry I did. First while Dell says you can use it on XP there are no specific drivers so it looks the characters look like crud. Hours on the phone with Dell was useless, I could never get to someone with any real knowledge, just bounced around in India. I was able to get the monitor to run under Plug and Play settings at 1920x1000 but again it was not crisp and clear. Within a week the monitor developed a hum and started displaying verticle bars. Again, back on the phone with Dell. After explaining the situation they told me is probably was because I was using it on XP without a driver?????? They did offer to send a replacement but they said it would be a "factory recondition" unit. NOWAY!!! in the box it went and back to where I bought it. Dell has lost its way! They used to have world class tech support and were customer focused, those days are gone! Thanks to a prior review on newegg I went and purchased the HP ZR2440, it is working perfectly on XP, looks great and I am really happy!

Castration for the MediaSmart Server

HP StorageWorks X310 Intel Atom Dual Core (1.6GHz) 2GB Memory 1TB Data Vault 3 open bay, Windows Home Server
HP StorageWorks X310 Intel Atom Dual Core (1.6GHz) 2GB Memory 1TB Data Vault 3 open bay, Windows Home Server

Pros: Small package, Quiet, Runs cools. Neat looking case! GB lan capable.

Cons: Anemic and underpowered. The previous version of this unit had a Intel Dual core processor that is no longer available. Why did HP build a less powerful unit and charge more for it? The unit bogs down when streaming video resulting in frame drops. Hp blew it with this one. I wish I could still buy the EX495 and dump this thing.

Overall Review: I guess corporate America thinks less is more, my friend has the Mediasmart Server ex495, I have worked with it remotely. It is so much faster than the X310. I guess I should have done my home work. This unit is performs poorly in comparison. HP has lost a customer with this one.
