Best home router around

ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router
ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router

Pros: I got two of these and threw one into client mode and the other into routing mode and my household has over 20 devices if you include wireless connected to. Everything works like a dream, a little trouble with lease renewal when ISP leases expired but a firmware update came out and it has been fixed ever since. The configuration is a dream to use, with basic setup being a cinch and with the ability to modify some of the more advanced settings of networking. I'm very fussy about my network; I need to have everything just so. A router like this one suits me.

Cons: I think it's a bit pricey.

Most Critical Review
Fellowes 98905 Silver/Blue 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical HD Precision Mouse
Fellowes 98905 Silver/Blue 5 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical HD Precision Mouse

Pros: 5-buttons is great for gaming, and gamers are not known for their extravagant fortunes: It is cheap. I like the way it feels and moves. I also like the way it clicks because the button-depression is short, so the cycle-time between each press-down and release is short, which is great for mad clicking. It's really a nice mouse, and for a 5-button mouse its cheap: the price-point is a serious bonus here.

Cons: After 6 months it began to issue double-clicks when I clicked only once, getting me killed in my games sometimes :) This problem was easily solved by banging the mouse a few times on my desk until it went away, as though something was loose or not soldered properly and just needed to be jolted into another place. After describing these symptoms, a friend said that I probably had a bad switch inside. Ok, so maybe you get what you pay for. After 9 months of ownership, I got worried that it will only handle so much more banging on the desk and I was tired of using this technique as a "fix", so I have decided to replace it. I'm sure a lot of them are bad, but I am hoping to get lucky. I'll probably buy another one while I see what I can do with this one in the warranty process.

Overall Review: Even with two mice (while one would be in some kind of RMA process), I'm still paying less combined than a lot of other 5 button mice. I've had other expensive mice (64$+) go out on me in the past, albeit their longevity was better (2-3 years). I don't think I'm that bad off, but of course I am biased, because I like the mouse itself.

Questionable

Rexus PST-3 Digital Power Supply Tester with LCD
Rexus PST-3 Digital Power Supply Tester with LCD

Pros: Easy to use and read voltages.

Cons: The +12.5V2 shows as 'LL' on one of my supplies. I thought it might be bad, so I tested it against a good supply in a running machine, and it also indicates the same 'LL'. As it turns out, it seems all my PSUs on all my computers indicate 'LL'. I question the accuracy of this tester.

So far, so good!

Western Digital Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I've heard the stories that they fail. I believe it happened to people. I'm not saying it can't happen to me. But so far, so good -- never had a WDC drive fail on me and I've been building since 1995 and always bought WDC. I owned this one for 4 years and 4 months exactly, and so far, still ticking without a hitch. If it dies tomorrow, I would be very embarassed about giving it 5 eggs, but it seems to be on par with the good WDC quality I have always witnessed. For desktop computing and gaming, access time seems plenty fine. Even with a lot of disk operations (I'm talking about EXTREME loads here) from many programs at once it doesn't take too long to clear up.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I recently purchased 3x of the similar WD5000AAKX from NewEgg which for the most part appears very similar to this one. As far as I know, the only difference is its a SATA 6.0Gb/s instead of a 3. I hope I have a positive experience with those as well. Never know about a drive though until its been used :)

Quiet and pretty!

Antec Signature SG-850 850W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply
Antec Signature SG-850 850W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

Pros: Beautiful case with a cool blue LED glow to relax you along with those nights of gaming. The case fans keep the temperature well regulated and run super quiet! I love this case! It REALLY is quiet. Its the most quiet I've ever owned.

Cons: The exterior perforated portions on the front can get very dusty. However, this is an auspicious place to collect dust due to the ease it can be cleaned on this particular case.

CyberPower Intelligent LCD Series CP1500AVRLCD 1500 VA 900 Watts 12 Outlets UPS
CyberPower Intelligent LCD Series CP1500AVRLCD 1500 VA 900 Watts 12 Outlets UPS

Pros: I've had this UPS for 4 years and its SOLID. I've had the power go out right in front of my face and that UPS kicked in without a hitch, without a spike, without a single distortion. It is a must have to protect your investment.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Its been a few years, I should probably change the battery for due diligence, even though I have no problems with the current one.
