The 1 that worked Part 3
Pros: Works like it should. No bad sectors (so far). Runs cool in a NAS.
Cons: None so far, the test will be time.
Overall Review: This is a continuation from my review(s) of the 2TB Red Drives. After 3 DOA drives from Newegg (2 RMAs), I contacted WD Red support and RMAd it and they upgraded it to 3TB as well as paid for return shipping for all of my troubles. Great customer services as far as I am concerned. Hopefully Newegg and WD will figure out what the problem is with all the DOA drive problems.
The 1 that worked Part 2
Pros: Well the only pro for the one that didn't work is that Newegs RMA processes was easy.
Cons: Drive was DOA. Couldn't even get past post on the PC to attempt to run diags. RMAd. Same problem with the next drive. RMAd. This time I ran tests using WDs Lifeguard (figured it would make talking to them easier if I needed to). Sure enough bad sector and could not be repaired. Called WD Red Support and will be RMAing this one with them.
Overall Review: 1 out of 4 bad is not very good. I am giving this 2 eggs only because Newegg RMAd these with no problems. And WD is doing the same. Even offered upgrade and paying for return (which is great customer service). I won't be providing another review for the 2TB drive as the next drive will be a 3TB. I will provide a review for that one once I get it and HOPEFULLY get it installed and running for a while. So in my mind if you are not working on a critical project and are ok with gambling on getting a good drive and willing to have to RMA then this is for you. If you don't have over 22 days to get something built or the patience you may want to look at another drive. I think Newegg and WD need to work together and figure out what the issue is. Is it Newegg's handling, WD's handling or WD's manufacturing.
Not Bad
Pros: Nice sound (not tiny and decent bass), decent overall quality, mic works nicely. You can fast forward, rewind, jump forward and back, answer calls, etc. Can't beat these for the price especially on sale.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I wanted a pair of earbuds for using when mowing and didn't want to spend a lot of money but still wanted decent sound. These fit the bill. Got them on sale for $20. They are not super bassy but they do have a decent amount. The key is to use the right size ear piece and get them firmly in the ear. The controls work well and you can jump forward and back as well as fast forward and rewind, yes you have to read the manual to figure out how to do it ;o)
It's a Fan
Pros: It moves a lot of air and can't beat the price.
Cons: None really see other thoughts.
Overall Review: Yes it is a bit loud but what do you expect for a smaller high RPM fan? If you want a quiet fan you will need to spend the extra money. I have gotten use to the hum and sometimes makes me want to nap ;o)
Nice little kit for $20
Pros: Inexpensive and has most of what you need for most PC work in one case.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I am always surprised when people complain about kits like these this price. If you want a high quality set it won't be $20 unless you get lucky at a garage sale. :o)
Pros: Great RAM, Got it on sale which made it even better.
Cons: Not plug and play with some motherboards (only a con if you are not expecting this).
Overall Review: Installed these in a Z77 Etreme 4 and they work great. You will need to go into the BIOS DRAM configuration and enable PMX, set DDR3 - 1600 and 1.5v. (make sure that it is also set to 9-9-9-24, if it does not default this way).
The way it should be
Item shipped quickly and was exactly what I ordered. New and undamaged as expected. Thanks.
