Bad refurb
Pros: arrived fast
Cons: The TV was supposed to be refurbished to original manufacturer's specs but 7 dead pixels in a single cluster exceeds that spec! It was probably sent for refurbishing for that reason. Refurbishing was done by third party and not by the manufacturer unfortunately, so it was done purely or not at all. The TV came with 2 out of 5 screws missing so the stand cannot be safely attached to TV. They sent 2 extra screws but they are not the right kind and they are of 2 different screws. When calling the refurbishing company on their customer service line I leave the message and nobody ever calls me back. Manual came as PDF on a CD that was thrown in the same bag with the screws, and had no paper sleeve so it got scratched. Remote came with alkaline batteries already placed in it. Refurbishing date was Jan 2013 so it means the batteries were there for 6 months and could have spilled. Bad quality refurbishing.
Overall Review: Sending back TV for replacement will cost me big bucs. It is just not right. This TV should not have been deemed in the condition to be sold. You can sell it at further discounted price, since it is not refurbished to the manufacturer's original specs as it is advertised on the website.
mixed feelings
Pros: nice looks
Cons: Has a cluster of bright, bad pixels, came with wrong screws for stand, TV channel scan does not find any channels while other TV finds several from the same roof antenna, refurbished by third party (not manufacturer) who don't return my calls
Overall Review: The TV arrived in the original packaging the next day after it was ordered.. Product, even though it was refurbished, was in great physical condition - no scratches etc. No paper manualwas included, just a CD recorded by refurbishing company with the pdf manual on it. CD was thrown in a plastic bag along with 5 mloose, metal screws that scratched the disc. Insted all 5 screws being the same kind, they were of 3 different kinds so I could not attach the stand. I tried calling the customer support line of the refurbisher (note included in the box) and left 2 messages with them, but they did not return my calls. TV turns on but it has a cluster of several bad (bright) pictures in the middle of the screen. I imagine this was why the fist owner returned it. The refurbishing company (not the manufacturer) instead of refurbishing it deemed it good enough and shipped it to me (poor quality control). TV also does not find any TV channels while other similar TV hooked up to the same roof mounted antenna finds several. This may be another part that is broken, or it may just be a less sensitive "tuner" used in this model TV. If I was to return the TV, I would have to pay return shipping. The store only charged me few dollars for shipping it to me, but I it would be around 60 bucks for me to return it to them. I will speak to the store people and will update this review if they will offer me a good solution. My advice is to stay away from refurbished goods that are not refurbished by the original manufacturer. Those 3rd party guys don't typically deliver quality services. If the issues are not resolved I will not buy from this store anymore.
Be Warned
Pros: Price, size, looks, comes with Ni-MH batteries
Cons: - Not covered by Panasonic Warranty in Canada according to Panasonic. My Phone broke after 11 months. They say this model is being sold only in US and if you check the manual that comes with unit, it confirms that. Warranty applies only to US and Puerto Rico. - our phone had problem with sound quality from day 1. Apparently many Panasonic DECT 6 phones do (according to the web) !!! Panasonic was not handling the warranty issue well from the beginning (poor service - lots of contradicting info). In the end I got cold email from "Sonia" saying "your model is not covered in Canada"- (previous responses were ok with warranty in Canada - I even got authorization for returning the product, LOL. Big, messy company.
Overall Review: I would not buy Panasonic DECT 6 phones, period, especially this model since it is not covered by warranty in Canada.
