Polk Audio Tabletop Digital Audio System

Polk Audio Tabletop Digital Audio System with iPod/iPhone Dock - I-Sonic
Polk Audio Tabletop Digital Audio System with iPod/iPhone Dock - I-Sonic

Pros: Excellent sound quality. Price can't be beat. Unit appears well made.

Cons: No included Bluetooth. Proprietary iPhone is all that is supported.

Overall Review: Overall I'm quite pleased with this radio. I don't understand why some nit pick the unit so much. The design is not leading edge but it can be fixed quite easily. First, when it comes to sound quality this radio rocks. I have a Bose Wave Radio in another room and depending on what your listening to you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Keep in mind that the Bose cost $500 or ten times what I paid for this Polk. Some complain of the lack of CD player but really CDs are almost obsolete. I made a few upgrades that made this radio perfect for me. While it has a good radio tuner I prefer to stream my own collection. I added a $20 Bluetooth audio adapter and instead of using the built in iPhone adapter I mounted my Qi wireless charger to the top. My Galaxy S4 now rests on top of the Polk. I can now stream from my 15GB personal library, stream Google Play Music, Pandora, or any of thousands of radio stations online. I don't even use the included remote as everything can be controlled from the phone and when I'm done it's easy just to place it on the wireless charger.. no plugs to fumble with, no adapters, no disks, no headaches. This is the way the radio should have been built but unfortunately no one has done it yet, not even Bose. Keep in mind that I can also stream from any of my other Bluetooth devices such as my computer, tablet, or even TV. If you're sitting on the fence buy this before they sell out. You won't find a better radio for $50 anywhere and with a few simple modifications you won't find a better radio at any price.
