Pros: For an air cooled option, which is what I prefer, this case has what it takes. I use the front 230mm - side 200mm - and rear 140mm as intakes and the top 2x200mm exhaust for a very efficient positive pressure air flow. In case you're wondering why the back 140mm is used as an intake, it's because the Noctua NH-d14 (or NH-D15) have RAM clearance issues and by flipping them around, I get fresh cold air straight to the cooler, which adds to it's cooling prowess. The hot air coming out of it on the RAM side is instantly going out the top by the 200mm fans as well as the perforated front bays by way of positive pressure. 2600K at 4.5Ghz isles at 26c and never goes past 52c at 100% use no matter how long it goes on for. Why bother with water cooling expenses and intricacies, right? My GTX980 classified never goes past 60c oc'd 1505/3557 thanks to the side 200mm feed of cold air and the extra purchase of a backplate (cheap skates at EVGA didn't think it was important to include it at the price point).

I'm a big BF4 fan, I play with 2x Dell 3014, the second screen is really for photo work but, since I have it when playing, I use the second screen for the map. Everything is maxed out Ultra and I get a steady 60FPS. It's golden.

Cons: Finish on case fittings could be better, a lot of fittings are off. The front panel needs an update for contemporary tech (ie1394 is passé). Cut out for CPU is a total right off with most MBs, it needs to be changed. A side door that opens on hinges would be welcome, especially if it opens beyond 90 degrees. An update for SSD mounts is also needed!

Other Thoughts: I hope that the HAF-X is updated soon. At a time when only a few manufacturers are producing a true air cooling option, Cooler Master has an opportunity to take a very good case and making it the contemporary uncontested leader. But it needs a few updates!

Dell U3014 Black 30
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Purchased directly from Dell, however, it makes sense to post my experience here, since the unit is sold here as well. This is an expensive unit intended for professional use and you'd expect that, at this level, quality control is paramount. Wrong!

Cons: Stopped working within a week. Banding like it was less then 8 bit color and scintillating pixels all over the screen. It took two full days, 3 separate chat sessions and 8 toll free numbers which generated 3 more for a grand total of 11... to get someone to determine that the unit was defective and needed to be exchanged. Impressive right? Then came the second wave of passing the buck! No concrete information of the actual delivery date for the exchange and 3 emails, 2 chats and 3 toll free numbers later, I still had no answer. It was in the near future, just not sure when.....Very impressive indeed!

Other Thoughts: Dell customer service and support departments are totally disconnected and that translates into a reality of endless hours in both phone and chat queues, to inevitably be redirected from one number to another and so on and so on. Clearly, Dell has no clue how to integrate customer service and support in order to help their customers. For this reason, I would strongly advise you to stay away from this or any other Dell product unless of course, you don't mind getting the short end of the stick.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

1 out of 5 eggs DISASTER AWAITS YOU 10/12/2015

This review is from: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Pros: Eventually... directX 12 but that's way down the road....

Cons: This product is really a Beta version at best. How else can you explain the issues with Nvidia cards and drivers? Secondly, it's riddled with spyware and I find that truly offensive! It also omits your right to select which updates you want on YOUR COMPUTER. Another issue that irks me is, why the heck are they reinventing the wheel with the behind the scenes interface? The previous layout of the control panel worked so why change it? Being familiar with any given software makes us more productive, change for the sake of change is just dumb!

Other Thoughts: I initially installed it over WIN 7 Ultimate and when finished, the Nvidia driver and the card settings were all wrong, so after fixing that issue, the very next reboot the response was "Windows has encountered an error" and "standby while Windows looks for a solution" then: Windows could not resolve the issue but rebooting your system often resolves the problem" REALLY! Then on the next reboot: "Windows has encountered an error" .....the dreaded infinite loop....Good thing I kept an image of my system with trusty Macrium software and my machine is back to WIN 7 with no issues.
