Awesome upgrade for HTPC

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1265 (1196) Hybrid TV Tuner /Video Recorder
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1265 (1196) Hybrid TV Tuner /Video Recorder

Pros: I bought this specifically for recording sports games for when I'm at work or school. Got it on sale for $64.99. Installation was super easy, just make sure you have an open PCIe x1 port and push it in. Windows 7 recognized the new hardware when I rebooted but did not automatically install drivers. Just had to go to the Hauppauge website and manually install the drivers. Windows Media Center recognized this and configured everything for me. Picture quality is just as good as my TV's tuner. Uses very little CPU power on an i3 2120.

Cons: Included software picked up a few more channels and located them quicker than WMC but is totally unstable and crashes constantly. Don't bother with it.

Overall Review: Great for adding DVR features to my basic cable. I can pause, rewind, and record. Should work absolutely fine with analog/digital cable, antennas and set top boxes. Hardware wise I give this 5 stars but WinTV7 is completely pathetic so I had to drop a star.

Best keyboard I ever owned until the i key stopped working

Rosewill NEON K90 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Kailh Blue Switches, 15 RGB LED Backlight Effects, NKRO, Anti-Ghosting, Multimedia Control Keys, Macro Hotkeys, USB Passthrough
Rosewill NEON K90 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Kailh Blue Switches, 15 RGB LED Backlight Effects, NKRO, Anti-Ghosting, Multimedia Control Keys, Macro Hotkeys, USB Passthrough

Pros: Solid and heavy, doesn't slide around on my glass desk The RGB keys look, feel, and sound great The customization software is A+ and it saves your settings without needing to open the program during boot

Cons: The i key stopped working after 2 weeks of light usage. The last keyboard I used came with a Windows Millennium Edition prebuilt HP and still works just fine after nearly 20 years. Kind of worried what I will get with RMA as this seems to be a common issue with this model keyboard.

Overall Review: This product would have been an easy 5 star review had it not been defective.

Excellent as a small emulation and HTPC rig

ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1135G7 Fanned BOX Barebone (Include Intel 11th Gen CPU)
ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1135G7 Fanned BOX Barebone (Include Intel 11th Gen CPU)

Pros: Incredible amount of processing power for something its size. I mainly got this to run PS2 emulated games and it can run Shadow of the Colossus which is one of the most intensive games for PCSX2. The form factor, performance, and cost were unbeatable for what I was looking for.

Cons: The included screws are complete garbage for something that NEEDS to be opened to put RAM and an SSD in. I went through my entire screwdriver set looking for a phillips head that would fit well and even the best one stripped one of the screws pretty badly. Praying I dont have to open it up again.

Overall Review: Definitely recommend this as long as you are comfortable installing a few easy parts for a HTPC with almost desktop level performance.

Seems brand new to me

Dell Latitude E6420 14" Notebook with Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50GHz, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, DVDROM, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
Dell Latitude E6420 14" Notebook with Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50GHz, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, DVDROM, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

Pros: Really pleased with this purchase. The laptop physically looks brand new minus a little one inch scratch that is barely visible on the outer shell. The laptop is super sturdy and the keyboard has a really great feel. It came with the 9-cell 87 Wh battery, which is the best battery Dell made for this model and lasts crazy long. The SSD is a Samsung 830 pro which is very fast and according to HWinfo64 has been lightly used. The CPU is snappy and can turbo boost up to 3.2 GHz. The memory configuration is 2x2GB so the onboard graphics get to enjoy dual channel memory. This is a business grade laptop and you can really see the difference in quality. You can still find all of the official parts for sale on the Dell website.

Cons: Small storage space Older gen i5 only 4GB RAM These specs may not work for what some users are looking for.

Overall Review: I wanted a cheap laptop with at least an i5 and an SSD for programming and school and this is exactly what I needed. I was a little worried about buying a refurbished unit but this really exceeded my expectations, it looks like its brand new. Newegg did a great job on shipping this as well, I received the item less than 24 hours from placing my order. My next laptop will most likely be another newegg refurbished unit.

Keeps my i5 4690k cool

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, 4 CDC Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Aluminum Fins for AMD Ryzen/Intel LGA1200/1151
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, 4 CDC Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Aluminum Fins for AMD Ryzen/Intel LGA1200/1151

Pros: i5 4690k hit 73C at full load at stock speeds with the included heatsink, this dropped that temp down to 50C. Allowed me to overclock to 4.2 GHz with a max temp of 62C. Can OC higher but don't want to push it too much.

Cons: Included directions suck. Look up others on youtube installing the heatsink if you need help.

Overall Review: Comes within 1mm of touching my RAM and barely fits in my Rosewill Challenger case but works great.

Great board for new overclockers

ASRock Z97 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z97 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I had absolutely no idea how to overclock my i5 4690k and just hit the optimized OC settings in the BIOS for this motherboard and hit 4.6 GHz no problem. Backed it down to 4.2 GHz to keep temps down and am topping out at 62C with a Hyper 212 EVO cooler.

Cons: Fan header #1 forces the fan to always run at 100%, I ended up getting a cheap fan controller to remedy that.

Overall Review: Great overclocking board, but I wish all of my fan headers worked. Not worth the RMA for 1 header though. i5 4690k @ 4.2 GHz Asrock Z97 Extreme6 Gskill Ripjaws Z 2133MHz RAM 4x4GB Nvidia GTX 970 @ 1402MHz Hauppauge 1265 TV Tuner Samsung 250GB 840 EVO SSD WD Blue 1TB HDD EVGA Supernova 850 G2 PSU
