Great bang for the buck

Canon ZR800 Silver 2.7"LCD 35X Optical Zoom Digital Camcorder
Canon ZR800 Silver 2.7"LCD 35X Optical Zoom Digital Camcorder

Pros: Great picture quality for the money, simple to use, pretty good feature set for an entry level camera, mic input works great, firewire transfer is effortless to use with windows movie maker. Practically does everything for you.

Cons: Batteries don't last very long. This camera uses the same battery as my canon S50 digital camera. I had 2 extra batteries for that and the wall charger so that was a plesant surprise and a good thing becuase you get about an hour and 15~20 minutes worth of recording time from a full charge battery using the little flip out screen. I'm sure it'd be more with the screen closed. The low light video mode isn't fluid and smooth the way the other modes are.. it's sort of stuttery and lags a bit but I rarely will be using this in very low light areas. No firewire cable included. That would have been nice.

Overall Review: I use this to record our band. An external mic was a must but I was shocked at how well the internal mic handles business... quite good actually. If you want high quality audio capture, use an external mic as the internal mic has a hard time coping with fast transitions from very quiet to very loud volumes. It will auto adjust the internal mic's recording level so as to not overload the mic and crackle. I use a decent condenser mic going into a studio projects VTB1 mic preamp and then send that out to the camera's mic input. It's working very well recording our band so far. I'm very pleased and for the money, I couldn't have done any better. Oh and free camera bag F T W!

BUYER BEWARE!!

Rosewill RX81U-ES-25U3 Aluminum / Plastic 2.5" SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure
Rosewill RX81U-ES-25U3 Aluminum / Plastic 2.5" SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure

Pros: Looks nice, fast transfer speeds

Cons: Like several others mentioned, the USB connector attached to the circuit board is EXTREMELY fragile. Mine snapped off after the slightest nudge. This is my SECOND unit to do this. The first one is the virtually identical BYTECC enclosure. I think they both use the same circuit board. this is totally unacceptable and will not buy another 2.5" enclosure that looks anything like these 2.

Overall Review: As mentioned in this and the BYTECC enclosure review, if you never plan on touching the enclosure once it's plugged in, it's not bad but if you ever plan on being portable with it, I wouldn't recommend any of these 2.5 enclosures that have the usb socket simply soldered onto the circuit board without any re-enforcement.

Outstanding cooler

Noctua NH-U9B SE2 92mm SSO CPU Cooler
Noctua NH-U9B SE2 92mm SSO CPU Cooler

Pros: Excellent build quality and no keeping track of extra mounting hardware for various sockets. One set of hardware covers all the intel sockets all the way back from 775 to 1150. Keeps my original i7 920 now in my server cool and still allows me to maintain a 900mhz overclock without any cooling problems.

Cons: none for me. It's a bit on the pricey side vs something like coolermaster offers but Noctua is a name that has earned my trust so I don't mind paying a bit more knowing that I will get an outstanding product. Also the color scheme may be off-putting to some people but you can easily swap out for a different set of fans. My only potential gripe is that there is no 4 pin connectors on the fans. If you're not aware of 3 pin vs 4 pin fans, it essentially means that the 3 pin fans allow the motherboard to MONITOR the speed of the fan where as, the fourth line on a 4 pin fan allows the motherboard to CONTROL the fan. Noctua somehow has made this a non-issue by superior fan design. The fans at their default RPM range of around 1750rpm according to speedfan push enough air to keep my CPU running fine despite a high overclock but is virtually silent during operation. So again, I wouldn't consider this a drawback unless you're a control freak that likes to micro-manage every aspect of their cooling, which in that case, I would assume you would have a more robust cooling solution than this cooler.

Overall Review: I originally bought this for my HTPC which needed a smaller HSF. The U9B fit the lian-li case perfectly. When I retired that machine and built my server using my old Bloomfield hardware, I was pleased to see that the mounting hardware used on my older P4 Socket 775 system was perfectly compatible with all of the newer socket types and that I could transfer the same mounting plate and brackets from that motherboard onto the Bloomfield motherboard (or even haswell or ivy bridge if I want) without digging through my box of parts to find any extra mounting hardware. That alone made me glad I bought this particular cooler years ago as any extra brackets or hardware at this point would have certainly been long gone and that would have yielded a useless cooler. My 920 is clocked at 3.75 GHz and under CPU stress testing with AIDA64, the hottest it gets is in the upper 90's which sounds hot but Bloomfield (at least the 920's) were notoriously hot and despite regularly sustaining these temperatures for hours each day almost every day for over 4 years now, I have 100% confidence that the Noctua can cool my i7 as silently and effectively as the water cooling kit I had on it previously.

Comfy and cool!

Cooler Master NotePal LapAir Laptop Cooling Pad with Comfy Sponge Mat, Up to 17"
Cooler Master NotePal LapAir Laptop Cooling Pad with Comfy Sponge Mat, Up to 17"

Pros: Large enough to accommodate full sized notebooks, cooling fan moves a nice amount of air, padded bottom keeps your lap comfortable.

Cons: fan is kinda loud. Rubber strip on the bottom of the unit needs stronger adhesive. Mine kept peeling back. I superglued it back down and it's stayed put.

Overall Review: I'm using a 15.4" MSI 16F2-012. I tried a couple other coolers made for 15.4" notebooks and they were all too small so I grabbed this one and even though it's made for the larger notebooks, the MSI fits it perfectly nice and flush on the edges. I've got the GTX 570m overclocked so it puts out a lot more heat when gaming and this cooler is absolutely ESSENTIAL to prevent it from burning my lap/legs.

inexpensive and nice high capacity

Patriot Memory 32GB Supersonic Boost XT USB 3.0 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 150MB/s Durable Rubber Housing (PEF32GSBUSB)
Patriot Memory 32GB Supersonic Boost XT USB 3.0 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 150MB/s Durable Rubber Housing (PEF32GSBUSB)

Pros: nice and inexpensive drive. Cheaper than the USB2.0 version??

Cons: the metal usb plug has a little wobble in it. Doesn't feel as solid as I'd like for it to. My 16gig Corsair Voyager feels a lot more durable and was going to buy a usb3.0 32 gig voyager until I read everyone saying theirs were dying. Decided to give Patriot a shot.

Overall Review: aside from it feeling a bit less durable than my Corsair Voyager, the patriot performs well and is good so far and has a nice price.

Super fast and affordable

OCZ Agility 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) AGT4-25SAT3-128G
OCZ Agility 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) AGT4-25SAT3-128G

Pros: Best priced SSD on the market and a great choice for a hardrive upgrade for someone still with a platter based drive holding their OS. I use this in a USB3.0 enclosure as a fast external drive at the office. It gets used a lot and the drive that used to be in the enclosure died from getting dropped and knocked around. SSD should put an end to that.

Cons: It may be the laptop I tried to use this with (HP 8440p) but 1/3 attempts to boot with the drive gives me an invalid system disk error. Reboot and it loads windows fine without any problems. I encountered this when trying to install win7 x64 on the machine too. A couple of times it didn't see a drive to install to. I tried switching to ATA mode and that didn't do anything different. changed it back to AHCI, tried again and there it was to install too. Strange. My Agility 3 in my gaming laptop (MSI 16F2-012) boots perfectly every time. I may try and swap the drives to see if the MSI has the same problem detecting the drive to determine if it's the HP that doesn't like it or if there's something up with the drive itself.

Overall Review: For me, the occasional inability to see the drive isn't an issue because I'm only using it in the HP temporarily until a replacement drive arrive. Using it in the external USB enclosure works perfectly. 5 Eggs for now but if my MSI laptop also has problems reading the drive, I'll have to knock a few eggs off. That would be a deal breaker for me if I were looking at getting this drive as a main OS drive and it didn't read half the time.
