Skipped Vista

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders

Pros: I actually didn't realize how much I would like 7 until I saw it in action on my buddy's machine. I thought I would never upgrade from XP LOL. It is very intuitive and runs fast! U especially love how it just goes out and grabs all my drivers for me! (Asus P6T) I had my LAN drivers all ready to go by the time the OS was installed! (but didn't work for my buddy with his Gigabyte mobo)

Cons: none that I can think of..

Overall Review: If you never wanted to upgrade because of Vista... Just do it, trust me you won't regret it. There aren't enough pop-ups to annoy you and if you are easily annoyed, you can turn them down or off completely! All in all, don't let Vista ruin Microsoft for ya. :)

First Impressions

SHARP AF-S100RX 10,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU) Window Air Conditioner with Remote Control
SHARP AF-S100RX 10,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU) Window Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Pros: - Light - Strong - Features - Remote

Cons: - .............. I guess the fins in the back are a little wide spaced... - Doesn't heat as well - nothing worth deducting an egg

Overall Review: I bought this to replace an old unit that came with my house. The old unit wasn't able to keep my AZ room cool.. Especially when there were people in there with you. However, it did have heat... Something I used maybe once in our AZ winter (not very bad - won't miss it much). As soon as I turned this thing on for the first time, you could already tell it was powerful. The fan blows air very strongly and cools the room super quick! Even with a few people in there. It is about the same if not a little quieter than my old unit. I installed this already and am working on putting shade screens in as well. I'm looking forward to a much cooler summer than last year and I won't have to regard my AZ room as off-limits during the day anymore!

Haven't had any trouble as of yet

CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9
CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9

Pros: - Combined 4 of these to get 16GB on my rig. - have had these for over a year with no trouble - Booted right up and was instantly recognized

Cons: Nothing that I believe to be a con.

Haven't had any trouble as of yet

NETGEAR 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch | GS116NA
NETGEAR 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch | GS116NA

Pros: I have had this for about 10 months now. No trouble never had to reboot it (ok, once I did as part of troubleshooting an issue that ended up being something else).

Cons: I do have a weird high pitch sound coming from mine.. Not bad enough that I think it should be replaced, but it is there.

Overall Review: I bought this one when I moved out of my buddy's house who had the same one on his setup. His is still running to this day... about 3 years and I expect worry-free trouble from mine for the years to come. This is being used in a home network environment.

These worked better than I thought

NYKO Power Pak Xbox 360 Black
NYKO Power Pak Xbox 360 Black

Pros: - They work and they work well - They have a long runtime - They last forever! - I would say this is the 3rd time I have bought more of these batteries.. only due to more controllers.. not to replace the old ones.

Cons: - The only gripe I could possibly muster would be that they don't look like the official Microsoft ones.

Overall Review: I bought these with the charging station for the first time from Best Buy when I got my Elite a few years ago... I am still using those to this day and still get plenty of runtime out of those same batteries. I have purchased a few more due to getting more consoles and controllers - I have yet to replace any of them yet. Bottom line, I would definitely recommend these batteries. I haven't tried to charge them with the play-n-charge cord that I have... but then again... I have never needed to honestly. Get the charging base station too.. that thing is great.. I use this with my XBOX 360 system.
