Pros: I really liked the design and it just seems to be well built.
Cons: I only have wireless N clients so I can only comment on N performance and I have to say it's nothing special. About the same range as Linksys EA4500. You can't use a special character in your router log in password, not a big deal but it took me a while to figure out why I could not change the default log in password. But the deal breaker for me was the fact you can not use third party DNS. You can not manually enter third party DNS IP. Not a good value for the money.
Other Thoughts: I'm sure all of this can be resolved with a firmware update but you need to check and make sure your cable co will provide updates for this gateway. This is not something that can be done by an individual. Firmware updates are only provided by your ISP. My ISP is Mediacom and as of 10/2014 there is no support for this gateway.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: TP-Link TL-ANT2408CL 2.4GHz 8dBi Indoor Omni-directional Antenna
Pros: Excellent build quality! Way better than the cheap Super Power Supply antennas, straight and sturdy
Cons: No signal improvement compared to the stock antennas on (my now longer working) Netgear R7000.
Other Thoughts: These antennas look cool! But other than that no actual benefit when it comes to wireless range. Purchased mostly for the looks.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS RT-AC68W Dual-Band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router
Pros: Connection seems to be stable.
Cons: After trying Linksys EA6900 and returning it due to poor range I puchased a Netgear R7000. the ntegear worked great but it only lasted 2 months. Decided to try this router and I am disappointed.
Using identical wireless settings and the router installed at the same location I could not test more than 70Mbit down on wireless in the same room. My connection is 150Mbit down and 10Mbit up. In my bedroom my best result was 45Mbit down. With the R7000 I was getting 155Mbit down and 95Mbit down respectively.
Other Thoughts: I simply can't justify the price of this router. My old Netgear 4500 had better speeds than this router.READ FULL REVIEW
