lasts a long, long time
Pros: Installed four of these WDs three years, seven months ago for a RAID 5 array and they're working fine. In those three years, seven months, my monitor died (warranteed for three years) but the WDs keep chugging along
Cons: None. Great product
This is not Enterprise quality
Pros: Five year warranty... big deal.
Cons: Highly unreliable. One drive died within six months of installation. If you own an array of these, just pray to whatever entity or deity in which you believe that your RAID will rebuild. Look at the review results. Only 51% gave it the highest rating. Is 51% good enough to keep your business afloat?
Overall Review: Check out the Newegg reviews for the WD equivalent WD1002FBYS. 78% gave it the highest rating. When your business depends on the data, do you want 51% or 78%??? Also compare the 1-egg reviews of this drive compared to the 1-egg reviews of the WD. In the Seagate drive, the complaints occurred when the drives were loaded with data plus the usual DOA issues. For the WD complaints, they are mostly about DOA and infant-mortality, a condition common to all semiconductor-based devices for the last 50 years.
Not good for envelopes
Pros: Does the job except for ONE major design flaw
Cons: This printer does not print envelopes well even when brand new. It prints a fairly drk ghost print on envelopes an inch or two left of the original printing. If you subscribe to stamps.com or endicia.com DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.
Overall Review: Of course, Brother blames the problem on the "drum," alleging that we're using a worn drum or cartridge. WRONG. This occurred when the machine was brand new.
One more time - no heat sink
Pros: Works great, works cool and is very fast.
Cons: No heat sink. No fan. Just a lot of packaging and a longer warranty than an OEM version.
Overall Review: The only difference between this boxed CPU and the OEM version is the warranty, 3 years vs. 30 days. IMO, if these CPUs fail, they will fail within the first 30 days anyway, so why waste twenty bucks?
Works for Tyan S3992G3NR-E R
Pros: Works great. No complaints
Cons: It works and it's guaranteed forever. What else is memory supposed to do?
Overall Review: This is the memory that Newegg had offered on the order page for the Tyan AMD based mobo. I had made the mistake of originally ordering server memory designed for Intel technology (Intel "buffered" vs. AMD "registered") but luckily was able to change the order before it shipped. Server boards are complicated because there are so many options. If Newegg's techs recommend a particular memory for it, take their advice unless you spent a couple of months in deep study.
just normal minor problems
Pros: Works great and really fast. We're using Verizon FIOS. It runs cool and quiet.
Cons: Twice in the past year it got hung-up perhaps due to a problem in FIOS. I corrected the hang-up by powering it down for 10 seconds and powering it up again.
Overall Review: I have it mounted to a wall using two 3M Command strips.
