Pros: Lasted with no problems since 3/2011, screen is super bright, tilts up and down, stand is kind of sort, had to stack it on top of books to keep it head level. I used it for gaming (didn't want to buy a TV because it was too big/expensive at the time). Great picture for gaming or normal use. I no longer game, so I use it now because my 14 inch laptop has a tiny screen, so I just hook it up to this.
Cons: Speakers are terrible - not a big surprise here.
Rebate Scam
Pros: This mother board - for the most part works.
Cons: I had some technical problems - there were random crashes and BSOD memory errors. The on-board graphics gave me some problems so I had to buy a PCIe graphics card. Right now I think there is something I need to change in the bios menu on memory. Had me stressed out quite a bit because the computer is currently needed and used for school and is unreliable and I have not figured out the solution yet. I never got my rebate. I bought this board from an electronics store, they gave me the complete directions and forms and I followed the directions of the manufacturer very precisely and on time. I bought this back in July and I'm still waiting in November for my rebate. I finally figured out how to check the status of my rebate and it said STATUS: declined-other. I got scammed. I'm not too furious because it was $10. But this bad experience makes me hesitant to do business with BioStar in the future.
Pros: motherboard is stable motherboard is not biostar reasonable price 4 memory slots
Cons: it isn't top of the line i guess.
Overall Review: this MB was a replacement for a biostar a770e3 - which was highly unstable (random lock-ups freezes, BSOD, boot failures). i had to try different memeory, buy a different powersupply, RMA my AMD processor. when I rma'ed my biostar they (biostar support/customer service) said everything was fine and it was the AMD chip at first I belived them - but no it was the mother board. I bought this board and it has yet to crash on me.
I take back my assertion about rebate scam
Pros: I posted earlier that Biostar stole my rebate, but I finally got my rebate mailed to me today!!! (after 4 months and I had to contact them to make sure) I'm not sure if I would have gotten my rebate if I didn't contact them and ask about it. Biostar has restored my trust in them - but I don't have the patience for rebates anymore.
Cons: I'm still trying to figure out why I'm getting BSOD erros and random system crashes/restarts.
Overall Review: Interesting because I didn't have this problem with windows 64 bit and when I reintsall windows 7 32 bit with 4GB of memory installed i get crashes left and right. but when i take out one memory stick it doesn't crash anymore. I don't think it's bad memory because it passed memory diagnostic tests. . . . still trying to figure out if this is an issue with settings/incompatability or if something is malfunctioning.
Amazing value, period.
Pros: Unlocked 3rd and 4th core! I have a friggen quadcore for under 90 bucks . . . Actually works fine with two cores, I just like knowing that I have the power and value. I mostly web browse and occasionally play old games like Command and Conquer 3 and Swat 4 Stetchkov's Syndicate. Run's both with maxed out graphics settings and resolution at 1280x1024.
Cons: none
Overall Review: I've only just unlocked the cores today, but so far appears stable and working quite well.
