Pioneer 15X BD-R SATA Blu-ray Burner BDR-2208, Retail Kit.
Pioneer 15X BD-R SATA Blu-ray Burner BDR-2208, Retail Kit.

Pros: This is the best optical drive I have ever owned. I have used Sony, Asus, LG, Lite-On, and HP in my builds. Always looking for the compromise between speed, noise, and quality. With the Pioneer, there is no compromise. It is built different than any drive I have used and it is very fast and quiet. I wish I had a free SATA port for a second one.

Cons: Like any other drive, does not contain a full function Blu-ray suit. This certainly is not a con against the drive but a comment since this field had to be populated. I wish the movie industry would lighten up. Until they do, there will not be a large number of choices to choose from when it comes to players. None of the current choices are worth the money you have to pay. For functionality, I like Aseesoft but for the playback engine, Cyberlink is still one of the best (I absolutely hate the way Cyberlink tries to constantly get their hand in your pocket).

What a pain.

Office 2010 Home and Student Product Key Card (no media)
Office 2010 Home and Student Product Key Card (no media)

Pros: Good Product. Personally I like the 2010 version very well. Better than 13. Priced reasonably and works well.

Cons: Have to download. Normally this would not be an issue. I actually prefer to download software but, when it is Microsoft, that is another issue. Had to have a Microsoft account which I have had for years but I purchased this for a work pc and I did not want to have to make an account for work so I used my own. No big deal but you should not have to have a Microsoft account to download and activate software you paid good money for. I guess it is no different than the games I play but with Microsoft it just seems intrusive. The biggest issue was the download link would not work with IE11. Imagine that. Had to use Firefox to download. I have always been one of the few loyal IE fans but IE11 sucks. It's compatibility issues go beyond an occasional issue. Sad when you can't use Microsoft's browser to download their own product.

Typical Asus

Pros: Fast, reliable, unbelievable display, great layout. Very light but well built and appears to be rugged. The keyboard I received does not have the ugly gray keys in the display. Thank you for that. I am very happy with this product as I am with all the Asus products I have and I have many.

Cons: It appears Windows 11 was installed as an upgrade instead of an original OS. No big deal except I notice some nuances that most people will never see.

Overall Review: Great product. Well worth the price. I actually am surprised they are selling it priced as it is. I wish the touch screens were not so expensive.

Goes fast stays cool.

Intel Core i7 10th Gen - Core i7-10700K Comet Lake 8-Core 3.8 GHz LGA 1200 125W Desktop Processor w/ Intel UHD Graphics 630
Intel Core i7 10th Gen - Core i7-10700K Comet Lake 8-Core 3.8 GHz LGA 1200 125W Desktop Processor w/ Intel UHD Graphics 630

Pros: Very fast compared to my 5th Gen I 7. Overclocks to 5.1 on all cores very easy. I lapped the lid so keeping under 60 degrees is no problem. I bought it to do some average gaming and handle some Photoshop for me. I am definitely not disappointed. For the price it was a very good choice.

Cons: none for me

Overall Review: Definite good purchase. The steps above are to much money for sure so this was a great option.

More than enough.

ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING LGA 1200 (Intel 10th Gen) Intel Z490 (WiFi 6) SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard (14+2 Power Stages, DDR4 4600, Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Bluetooth v5.1, Dual M.2 and AURA Sync)
ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING LGA 1200 (Intel 10th Gen) Intel Z490 (WiFi 6) SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard (14+2 Power Stages, DDR4 4600, Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Bluetooth v5.1, Dual M.2 and AURA Sync)

Pros: Good VRM cooling, excellent layout in a small package. BIOS is decent as ASUS always is. I normally build using the ASUS Formula boards but this time I felt I did not need so many options. I was just looking for a good Z490 board with the newer 2.5Ghz network capability and this was it. Paired with a 1 TB Samsung NVMe and this board kicks tail. I did not think I was going to use the lighting features since I have never been that guy but actually they are pretty cool. This board came with a late enough bios that installing the NVMe was not an issue and I was able to get everything up and running without a hitch. I do not know what else to say. Coming from a socket 2011 GEN 3 X on a Rampage IV, this was a breeze to get performance that I have never had. Most of you are running later hardware but for those of us just upgrading, this board is excellent. I have been able to get my 10700k to run stable at 5.1Ghz without really even trying and it stays below 50 with a 360 AIO cooler. It runs well enough that stock settings will be good most of the time but to have the option is nice.

Cons: The VRM cooling fan screw that all the reviews are talking about is an issue. I was able to get mine out without stripping it but it was close. So far I have not used the fan. I hope I do not have to because it is a pain in the ... The only thing that is an issue for me is the fan header layout. The CPU fan header and optional CPU fan header are in a perfect spot for a 240 cooler but if you run a 360 there is not enough especially if your case is using three to four fans pushing air.

Overall Review: Excellent board for the money.

Large tip

HP 693709-001 OEM New PFC Adapter, 120W, Smart, Slim
HP 693709-001 OEM New PFC Adapter, 120W, Smart, Slim

Pros: HP is well made.

Cons: This item has no description or specs. The picture looks like small tip but it is large tip so it will not work on 99% of laptops I work on. Item is unfortunately non returnable. Lost again doing business with newegg. My fault for buying it but I took a gamble on the picture.

Overall Review: Do not buy until spec info is updated. Looking at another charger and the specs are for a gigabit router. Going somewhere else.

Lost package.

UPS delivered an expensive package to somewhere besides the shipping address. While it took a few days to verify package incorrect delivery there was no argument and shipping of replacement was quick. Thank you for great customer service.

Unbelievable. I have ordered many Surface Pro tablets because I am IT for my company. The item I received is definitely a return. Not what I purchased! Packaging was totally not Microsoft. Pen was missing! Could not get tablet to turn on until I used a charger from one of my other Surface Pro's which was why it was probably returned in the first place. This negligence is total dishonesty. You can not tell me that this was not known to be a return. Scratches all over tablet and charger. I need this Surface for this weekend so I can not return it which is going to cost me more than what I saved doing business with Always.Deals. I have purchased thousands from newegg and I can guarantee Always.Deals will receive no more of it. T. Dean
