Pros: No problem installing the card and setting it up with the cable company. I went in to talk with the cable company before installing it, told them what I was going to do, they gave me the M-card and instructions on who to call to activate. Followed the online and written instructions before setting it up and the install couldn't have been easier. Works well with the HTPC. It awakes the system to record just fine when I set a recording and then the system goes back to sleep.
Cons: I kept the cable companies HD-DVR to compare the two before taking it back to the cable company and here's what I have come away with. Understand that this only applies to my experience with my cable company (CableOne) and their Motorola DCH6416 High-Definition Dual Tuner Cable Receiver. Typical picture quality is very comparable between the two tuners but would give the cable companies HD-DVR a slight advantage. Small pixelation issues with the Cable's HD-DVR are multiplied with this tuner card. Another issue is the way it tends to miss information on the guide. If I arrow back to the channel with the empty information box and select the channel, it will then fill in the blanks. Not a big issue for sure, just an annoying issue that the Cable companies HD-DVR never did.
Overall Review: I am overall very pleased with the tuner card so don't get me wrong concerning the things I listed in the Con tag. I will be returning the cable box in a few days so that should say volumes.

Vantec UGT-IH203
Pros: Does what's it's designed to do
Cons: Ordered the wrong size...needed the 5.25" bay filler instead of the 3.5". Not the parts fault. Works fine with the adapter to fill the space.

While the camera does work, the packing was very inadequate. The 2 small air bags inside the box didn't come close to taking up the slack so the camera could move around easily. We were lucky it arrived OK. We paid expedited shipping (3-5 day) and the seller chose UPS SurePost...the economy option. That added a day to the shipping and ran it past the 5th day. Take that into consideration.
