WOW - and it works perfect with ubuntu

Acer Aspire S7-391-9886 13.3" Touchscreen Convertible Ultrabook
Acer Aspire S7-391-9886 13.3" Touchscreen Convertible Ultrabook

Pros: Crazy thin. Best screen I've seen anywhere outside of the retinabooks(but basically the same). Nice fast i7 Extremely shallow-typing(low-throw) keyboard. Allows me to type deadly fast. and again!!! - Best display in a non-mac possibly ever.

Cons: you might get muurdered due to jealousy only 4gb of ram bad location of tilde and caps lock keys, but I'm getting used to it... And I'm a person that sets caps lock to control and uses control(caps lock)-C to exit insert mode in vim. so I press caps lock at least 500 times per day.

Overall Review: a little hassle to remove the windows EFI garbage, but after I figured that out it's golden with ubuntu. Don't keep windows on this beauty, put linux on it and you'll have the envy of all your tech friends.

Acer Aspire S7-391-9427 Intel Core i7 3537U (2.00GHz) 4GB Memory 256GB SSD 13.3" Touchscreen Ultrabook Windows 8
Acer Aspire S7-391-9427 Intel Core i7 3537U (2.00GHz) 4GB Memory 256GB SSD 13.3" Touchscreen Ultrabook Windows 8

Pros: it looks cool

Cons: I had this laptop, the highest end model, for about 6 months. I actually bought it from a retailer, and I ended up exchanging it repeatedly. I went through 4 of them before finally exchanging it for the new sony haswell ultrabook. And everyone else I know with this acer s7 had the same problem... THE KEYBOARD! you just cannot type a sentence on this thing without producing double-characters. What exactly do I mean... press j and you'd get jj and so on, all day every day; I dealth with it for 6 months, while using an external keyboard when I had real work to do. Acer dropped the ball BIGTIME.

awesome!

SONY VAIO Pro 13 Intel Core i7 8GB 128GB SSD 13.3" FHD Touchscreen Ultrabook Carbon Silver (SVP1321DCXS)
SONY VAIO Pro 13 Intel Core i7 8GB 128GB SSD 13.3" FHD Touchscreen Ultrabook Carbon Silver (SVP1321DCXS)

Pros: the touchpad is by far the best of any ultrabook. the keyboard is second maybe only to some lenovos, but just as good. I'm a unix programmer, and I can go beast-mode on this keyboard all day. the SD card slot on the side allows a card to be inserted flush with the case!

Cons: a tiny amount of light-bleed at full brightness, but really nothing to complain about. it's generally a great display.

Overall Review: compatible with linux if you're willing to compile your own kernel. I have mine configured with arch linux, custom iwlwifi kernel(thanks intel), also with the patched intel_pstate, and I'm loving it. Of course you won't have to do any of these custom kernel things when these are present in the mainline kernel(probably soon).
