EVGA SuperClocked 012-P3-1573-KR GeForce GTX 570 HD w/Display-Port (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: I purchased my GTX 570 in November as an upgrade over my ATI 5750 HD. I actually couldn't install it until December but that's another story. My gaming experience dramatically improved; I went from playing my games (Guild Wars 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Borderlands 2) with low/medium settings @~30-50 FPS to high/ultra @50 FPS minimum. Borderlands 2 was the biggest eye opener for me, as it is the first game I've played with PhysX set to High. At 200 USD after an immediate rebate, picking this card up was a no-brainer.

Cons: Games (Borderlands 2 mainly) would occasionally lock up, forcing me to open the Task Manager and Force Close the game. I also had problems running Tera; I would see frequent, unpredictable crashes which would also require me to Force Close the program. I always kept my drivers up to date, too.

I had an issue roughly one month ago where my desktop refused to load after the "Resuming/Starting Windows" screens; I was met with a black display, requiring me to power down my computer. The issue seemed to be resolved after I re-booted in Safe Mode and uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers.

Today this issue happened again, but this time it appears the card has had it. My desktop refused to load outside of Safe Mode and after trying to uninstall/re-install the drivers, my computer simply wouldn't POST. I re-installed my old ATI card and my system booted fine.

Other Thoughts: I called eVGA today and started the RMA process. My fingers are crossed. I really liked the performance of this card when it worked and it was within my budget.

Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless Broadband Router 802.11b/g up to 54Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: It looks cool. No problems with wired connections.

Cons: Poor signal strength and connectivity for wireless. Using a Linksys Wireless Adapter for my PC, I am roughly 20 feet from the actual router in another room. The router itself is on the top of a computer desk. My signal strength constantly flickers between 3 bars (Good) and 2 bars (Low). Connection speed constantly changes between 14 MBPS to 54 MBPS. Works okay for basic internet browsing and functionality, but very poor performance for gaming. I've tried flipflopping the channel it broadcasts on, changing security settings to WPA2, moving the router's position and resetting to factory settings to start all over again. I have not tried updating the firmware upgrade or DD-WRT but based on many reviews that I have read on this site, even that route is iffy and a royal pain. For over 100 bucks spent total (router and USB adapter) I feel that this product (and the adapter) are a failure for wireless internet. As a first time buyer I'm real iffy about any other products from Linksys

Other Thoughts: Not worth the hassle unless you like to challenge yourself. Wired connections are king; I don't care what anyone says.
