Not great for Server 2008 R2
Pros: Cheap & fast delivery
Cons: CD setup program doesn't work; must let windows find driver from cd. Drivers from manufacturer's website don't work at all. Manufacturer's support section of website is "under construction" What is this, 1996?
Overall Review: I bought this card because the audio drivers on my Gigabyte EP43-DS3L motherboard cause graphic stuttering in windows 7 64-bit and windows server 2008 R2. Forget about using the setup.exe file on the installation cd, just let windows find the appropriate driver on the cd. Inexplicably, the drivers I downloaded from the manufacturer's website do not work at all! The setup.exe finishes with a "did not install" error, and windows can't find an appropriate driver amongst the downloaded files. I use simple stereo out (the green plug) and haven't tried any of the other features like surround or SPDIF so I can't comment on those. Other commenters are correct in saying this is a very poor sound card, so consider yourself warned because it will cost you more to return it than to junk it. Bottom line: For 10$ plus $6 shipping it will probably work for your most basic stereo audio needs.
Pump stopped after two months
Pros: The unit is much smaller than a large heatsink + fan are. The fan unit is easy to mount on the top of a HAF case.
Cons: The pump stopped after only two months of use. Before that, I was annoyed that the power comes from an entire USB2 header. I would have liked it if it came from the power supply directly. Also, the software that ships with the device is not current; it takes a little bit of digging (after the original software won't install) to figure out that you need new software. Finally, the entire unit is difficult at best to control from the motherboard; it works better if the proprietary software is used. However, I consider this a hassle and an extra service/process that I don't want running.
Overall Review: I would go elsewhere, even spend more money if I had to, to get a better watercooler.
