A good phone!!!
Pros: A good phone! the OS is very fast!! The user interface is very convenient and easy to use. Much better than the old 'start button' on Windows 6.5! Everything you need is on your screen when you turn it on! All your e-mail accounts, Texts, UPS or other tracking info, facebook, twitter, any other social media outlets, as well as your Windows live account/page that you can create to manage all of the others. That way anyway that someone attempts to contact you, it appears on the front page of your WP7 phone!! No more having to log onto each or even checking each app link on your iPhone. You can post one comment on your windows live account and have it distributed throughout them all!! Its easy to play music, videos or stream songs and videos online. Everything is very easy to use and very user oriented. It also has a speaker that slides out and a kick stand to prop it up so you can watch videos on the go!!! Its light and small so its easy to carry.
Cons: For those of you that saw HTC & Windows together and expected the best phone ever made, well keep waiting. Its a real good phone, but the closed OS that windows opted for this time around sucks BIG TIME!! If all you want is a simple phone that does cool things, this is a great one. But for those of you that a have a few more business or tech needs, this phone is alot like the iPhone in that you can only do what Microsoft allows you to do, and Microsoft doesn't provide responsible support. I owned this phone for almost a year before they released an update allowing cut & paste as a feature, then about another 11 months for other updates. They dont seem to care whether or not you ever buy another Windows phone. The screen is terribly small considering this phone is touted a media phone with surround sound & kick stand for easy viewing. In the end Windows made an iPhone without the support or applications offered on the iOS by Apple.
Overall Review: Microsoft adopted the concept of Apple, 'we will make it real easy to do so, so little, but impossible to do what you want'! The phone looks good behaves well, no real serious functionality issues, just a closed system that restricts what you can do. The WP7 & iPhone are just like the iPod & the Zune. They are virtually the same thing, but why buy a Zune when there is infinitely more support for the iPod, not to mention everyone has one too? I thought that Microsoft learned their lesson with Zune's failure but I guess not. In the end, its a good phone & if you dont mind the restrictions that even iPhone users dont mind & the price sounds fair to you (it sounds fair to me, I paid more than $500 when it first came out!!) then you will like it alot. P.S. since it first came out most, if not just about all of the apps for iPhone and Android phones can be found for the WP7, it just took forever to get there!!!
Don't pay more than $12 for this one
Pros: The LED light is nice to provide some soft back light in fairly dim to dark light. Be aware it is not intended to light the keyboard, but if your vision is not flawless, you know how lighting can be tricky. Its a nice design for a table or desk, or on your lap, although not intended for your lap it is tolerable if you use it this way. The additional USB port is very helpful as this pad was purchased for my MAC which only has 2 USB ports total, & I use 1 for my wireless mouse already. Dual fans run well & the aluminum mesh that the computer helps to disperse heat with the fans, as it sits directly on the frame of the pad; the pads which are entirely plastic, seem to retain heat more than this one. Very sturdy & durable, should last a while.
Cons: The 2 biggest cons are the USB port does not seem to be structurally sound & rather flimsy, as if regardless what USB cable you insert, it is ill fitted & loose. Then the USB cable provided itself is not of good quality & already shows signs of wear to the point that it cannot always power the pad, evident by the LED lights are very dim, & the fan's spin very slowly until the cable is adjusted. For this reason I do not recommend plugging in any device which may be damaged but an improper disconnection, ie. Hard drive or flash drive.
Overall Review: Strange how an otherwise solid unit falls short over a cable & USB Port. If you can swap out the USB port, which is fairly easy, & replace the cable, as I have done, your going to have a very decent unit. For the sale price, it was fair, but if you dont want to put the effort into it, or dont know how, buy another cooling pad.
SWEET LAPTOP!
Pros: Great machine!! If you dont want to spend alot, but want a machine with good performance & you can upgrade so you can have for a while, then this is a great machine!! Its small enough to take with you everywhere, but large enough that if you have fat fingers, like me, you can still type & work without constant clumsy accidents & frustrating squinting while looking at the screen. Fast processor, decent ram (I would upgrade), decent Hard drive (I would upgrade). Its a great machine for the price. Small, light, but packs a powerful bite! PLus if you need to work on the go for a while, it also has a 6 cell battery to keep you going!
Cons: Mostly DELL. No joke, when I went to the dell support page for some quick info on upgrading my laptop, the dell sit did not have my service tag in their system, as if my machine didnt exist. Worse is when I entered live chat the rep tried to convince me that my machine only had 1 GB DDR2 RAM installed & could only be upgraded to 2 GB!!! He then tried to tell me that my laptop had 6 RAM Slots!!! Why would it have 6 if I could only upgrade to 2 GB I will never know!! By the way it took me an hour & a half & i never got any useful info from dell! The machine is great, just dont expect it to be a $1200 alienware PC for this price! Its great for on the go work, great to upgrade & keep alive for a while! Not really a con considering the price, but the size of the HD & amount of RAM. Easy fix for under $100, still a great Notebook
Overall Review: I upgraded the RAM (4 GB) for about $13 through Newegg of course & a 750 GB hybird drive for $49.99 also through Newegg. This thing Purrrs!! start up is around 13 seconds, all apps start super quick, multitasks awesome!! Battery lasts forever (just kidding) I love the HDMI, the SRS could be a bit better, but not really a con since I dont really use it. The 4 eggs are mainly for DELL, I used to love them, but not so much anymore. You really shouldnt have any complaints considering the price.
Works as Advertised
Pros: Real simple device, works exactly as it's advertised. very small, but sturdy unit (metal clip verses typical plastic). Clamps onto sun visor or similar location. Mountable if you know how to & feel like the little extra work (mountable tools & mount not included or advertised for product). Battery lasts a long time, slightly less than described (talk time a little shorter than advertised, but stand by time is about the same), but very good. Voice recognition is good, syncs all contacts, easy programming. loud speaker (does not sync personalized ringtones like some do, but the supplied ringtones are loud enough to be heard over the radio & or open window), noise reduction is good, not excellent but better than most blue tooth head sets. large buttons, I like for easy use without looking (while driving).
Cons: Battery is a little disappointing. The sync abilities are limited, but for the price I paid ($19.99) you just cant beat it! No real cons to speak of. I only took an egg off because it is on the cheaper end with limited features of blue tooth units Ive owned, Ive had alot of them I might add.
Overall Review: Its much easier than most blue tooth units. My other car has blue tooth standard built in & it has a ton of blue tooth features, like playing music from my phone, & text/e-mail to talk etc, but it is an ordeal to simply make a call (it can take 5 full minutes to answer all the questions to make a call), this thing is as simple as pressing a button, & saying the name, & its ringing. in the end if you see it on sale buy it, It allows me to charge my head set & still be able to be hands free while driving, & its cheap, & works well for the price!
Nice enclosure
Pros: Very slim, LED indicator light, Aluminum body, & its snap connect design, all make it a rare buy for the price!!! If you know what your buying, because some buyers here do not & then complain afterwards, then you should really like this enclosure.
Cons: The color might be a con for some, for me there are only a couple of cons; one is that there doesn't seem to be any real shock absorption for the drive. Although unless you buy an enclosure that is ruggedized for shock, then none of them fully protect against shock, some do provide more protection than others by design, & this one doesn't provide much at all. But knowing that it was a slim enclosure at purchase, it wasn't much of a surprise. The only real con for me is the enclosure is somewhat tough to re-open after you have closed it. It snaps into place & is a tad bit tricky to re-open. I have many enclosures, & I always prefer quick connect enclosures so if I needed I could quickly switch between drives in a single enclosure without screwing drives in & out, with this one, the snap connect feature might be slower than screws.
Overall Review: I rather enjoy the color only because I swap out all of my old laptop drives eventually & have plenty of identical drives laying around & have to label them so I can distinguish them, so the color, although not my preference, is welcomed for me. It does what I need it to do, so its worth every penny for me. No real cons worth not purchasing more of them.
Fair for the price, key word price
Pros: Its light weight design makes it very comfortable for all day use. Its buttons are fairly easy to access while wearing it. The silicon ear buds are comfortable for a couple of hours of use. It seems to have a fairly sturdy design as far as if dropped.
Cons: I have had a host of headsets that cost a lot more than this & some I loved & some were awful!! My favorite headset was a plantronics that has since been discontinued, but was incredible! This unit had a few cons. First of all it only allows you to have one paired connection at a time. This is a real con to me because I have a business cell & a personal one. The ring in your ear is very soft & not compatible with the personalized ringtone on your phone, as some headsets are, which plays poorly if your in a loud environment & cant hear the handset already. The plastic ear clip is very fragile & will most certainly break very easily. The dock that it plugs into is a serious pain!! Although it needs a micro usb to power, it uses a dock to connect to the permissions. This is seriously annoying & bulky if you have to charge on the go, not to mention it takes up a lot of space in your car cigarette port. The silicon gel ear buds dont fit in the ear as you expect & allow background noise
Overall Review: Its real cheap & I paid much more for headsets that were far worse ($165 for a jabra)!! I got this headset on sale for $15, so Im not going to be too picky just honest. If you want a cheap but functional headset, this one does the job. You might need to replace it in a year, but lets be honest, your going to do the same with your phone too, & for $15 I can accept a year of use as fair.
