$18, does what's on the tin
Pros: Hey, it's a DVD drive! It plays DVDs! It has SATA! It's super cheap!
Cons: None
Looks sharp, is sharper
Pros: It's Super Effective! I've actually got the fan throttled down to half power, and it keeps my CPU nice and cool (below 40*) at idle and up to moderate usage. Kicks up to the 60s during gaming and heavy loads.
Cons: Those copper fins are SHARP! Wound up with my fair share of cuts on my fingers trying to apply enough pressure to get the screws set on the bracket. The installation instructions are a little lacking, and you're given 4 screws for the cross-brace to hold the cooler to the bracket when you only need 2.
Overall Review: Includes enough thermal paste for a CPU or two, if you don't want to buy your own. 3 Years Later: Why come back and edit an old review after 3 years of use? Because I finally figured out what is rattling in my case since the day I built it - and it's this heatsink. Due to the way the heatsink/fan combo mounts to the CPU, it's never fully locked in place. For me, the whole heatsink/fan unit can rotate a few degrees on top of the CPU, which is just enough to put a wobble into the whole thing from the fan under load. Not only does the fan get loud under heavy load, but it causes a loud vibration. It was great for the price, but I'm planning to replace the whole thing with a liquid unit soon enough.
Great value, almost no regrets
Pros: Great board, with a very clean layout. Great price for the features that you get with it.
Cons: Everything (except the SATA 3g/s ports and those on the I/O shield) is black. Gets a little confusing trying to figure out which of the 4 DIMM banks are paired together, where other boards would use two different colors (or even text on the board) to show. Labeled as A1, A2, B1, B2 in the manual, and the pairs are the numbers, not the letters.
Best bang for your buck
Pros: Runs Bioshock: Infinite in High-Ultra settings silky smooth. Can't wait to dive into other games and see how awesome they look at Ultra settings.
Cons: Wish I had bought at the end of last year, when Nvidia was offering Borderlands 2 and some other games instead of "just" $20 back in rebates and $150 in points to various F2P games.
Overall Review: Installed the drivers off the disc, instead of downloading the latest from Nvidia. Had to manually update drivers because Nvidia's software threw me into a "you must restart" loop when trying to update or uninstall the disc drivers.
Looks good, runs great!
Pros: Slim packaging, doesn't get in the way of your CPU cooler, and survived an 8-hour stress test of P95 without a hiccup.
Cons: None
Blazing fast, works right out of the box
Pros: Installation is a breeze, and works beautifully under Windows 8 without even needing to install the drivers from the box.
Cons: None
