freds review to the T
Pros: -these are rock solid, both in performance AND in quality. worth EVERY penny. dont go with any other just because of price. -very cool. my ram is currently running around 40% right now and actually cool to the touch. i feel no heat what so ever...
Cons: these are a little tall. granted i WC my cpu so im not sure what coolers will not fit, but if WCing (either SC or custom) these will fit (obviously)
Overall Review: other thoughts.... Freds comment to a T. very well said, and i agree 100% corsair=quality
good gpu past defects...
Pros: -great design on the air flow for these. very little heat gets out the front (where the connectors are), mostly all heat is dissipated in the rear. -nice sleek design -performance is GREAT once you get past defects (or hope you dont have any)
Cons: -these cards run HOT. at high setting/ultra, im running dirt 2 at about 85c, AC3 on ultra at 84c. but all other games (bf3, bo, bo2, mw2, ect) are all right around 70c. -with how hot these get you would think it would be easier/more common to be able to get a block for these... i had to have custom order from ek... -last pet peve, ive RMAed these idk how many times. seems to ALWAYS be the vram. thats what other people say on forums too. thats the one bad thing about these cards. be careful OCing... and once you get your new card, hope its a good one
Overall Review: really for the money, single or even sli, these cards are great. they should of watched the vram more than they did but its ok. ive been running for 3 months now, no RMA, and theyre fine. as long as theyre in warranty and you can RMA, youre ok. -other thought, sell them right before warranty expires, get better cards? theyre great cards, just cant do much with bad vram and a expired warranty... :\ (unless you pick up extended warranty)
great mobo!
Pros: -i was quite skeptical on the thermal armor really helping, bygod it does, not a HUGE difference, but a little heat is too much right? -its a very classy design and could be painted if want to mod... -temps stay fairly cool. found no real reason to WC the mobo at this moment, unless for asthetics -this is everything im looking for in a motherboard! minus the cons
Cons: -be sure to read specs... only has 2 pci-e. im running sli, want a sound card but cant. -wish the USB 3 was mounted on its side like sata ports, my big usb 3 cable is ugly... -my biggest complaint isnt on so much the motherboard, as more the manufacturer. i love asus, but the software could be better. temps read wrong and if you do your research, sometimes the usb/sata temps read 120c+. this is a flaw in the software. all temps on the ai suite dont match up with ANY other software (HW monitor, Speccy, ect)
Overall Review: really though, outside of the small flaws, this motherboard rocks! glad i picked it up. a very strong 4, almost 4.5 eggs.
not too bad for the money....
Pros: first off, the size isnt all that bad! ive got an nzxt lexa s and ive still got some room, however i cant fit one of 2 top fans... ram fit in fine. as for cooling, its ok for the money. im sure there is better out there, but its better than stock! i think the design on how the fan attaches could be a little better, but it is what it is
Cons: not THE BEST cooler, just ok/good. no back plate, push button...
Overall Review: contact on the cpu seems to be good. check, double check and tripple check to make sure its on there nice and good, check the back of the mobo pcb and make sure all the pins are though, for testing i picked up the mobo by the heatsink, if it doesnt come off, your good :) would like to see this cooler with backplate and use screws like a lot of other coolers out there...
