Really Happy!

Pros: I've been dragging my feet now for a very long time about getting one of these cards and FINALLY I did. So glad I made the choice to do it! I had been holding off because I was waiting for the Ceton Q but it seems to be on hold at this point. I had tried the Tivo 4 tuner models but they didnt play nice with my tuning adapter here in the Dallas area so that was a complete bust. This Ceton card works so amazing here with my cable system! Picture quality is really great except for some macroblocking issue they are having right now. I dont get it a lot, just every 30 minutes or so I see a line or two going across the screen. I'm sure there will be some firmware update to fix this since a lot of people are having it. I went to the Green Button website and read a lot about how to set up an HTPC before completely diving in. This was really helpful to learn about what to do before actually doing it. I have this working with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 with 4GB Ram. I dont use an SSD because I havent had good luck with them yet. I just use a regular 80GB WD Caviar Blue for the program files and then a WD20EURS for the 2nd disc to write the video files to. What a great setup! I think I'll be adding a 2nd one to get 4TB total. I really like that I can link my other computers to this, so I can view the video files on other computers as well. I'm on Time Warner Cable here in the Dallas area and it works really great. I'm so impressed with this that I cant hardly wait until the 6 tuner card is released!
Cons: There is some macroblocking issue right now. I dont see it a lot, but it is there. I sent a support ticket to Ceton about it, and just got back some generic answer about my signal level etc etc. My signal is right exactly where they suggest it be, so I dont know what else to do about that. Time Warner has run all new lines to my house and checked the signal level and everything is fine on their end. It's OK for now, I can deal with it, but I do hope they come out with some firmware fix for this. I've been thru this kind of thing before with Tivo, they like to blame the cable company, and the cable company does all they can to get you a good signal, but the issues are still there. I have other DVR's in the house so I know the signal is fine, and Time Warner checked it out for me. Either way its better than paying every month for a DVR and only having 2 tuners instead of 4, so I wont complain too much.
Overall Review: Someone in a previous post said something about Time Warner, and they dont do 2way but only with Tivo? No clue what they are talking about. These cards do everything a Tivo will do and more on Time Warner Cable so dont hold back on buying if youre on Time Warner, take the plunge right away, you'll be happy you did. I've got 2 Tivo's left on contract and as soon as they are done, they are gone from this house. So tired of paying the monthly fees, and buggy software, and using this with an HTPC there are no fees! I really wish I had gotten one of these sooner than I did. I always like to research things a lot before I do something, so I will know what I'm doing, and I like to do it right the first time. Just took me awhile to do this. I'm finally happy I did. These cards do get a bit toasty, so I got one of those PCI slot fans and put it right next to the card to keep it nice and cool. This works really well for it. Mine usually runs at about 48C with all 4 tuners recording. I have the fans running at the lowest speed so there is no noise coming from them. In an HTPC air flow is key. I use the SilenX fans in mine and I cant hear anything, but they have a good air flow. I really do hope they get the macroblocking issue fixed soon, then I could say its 100% perfect. If you dont have a lot of computer experience, I could see how this whole thing would drive you crazy. You do need a good level of experience to get one of these things going. I've built my own computers for a long time now, and even this threw me a few curves, but it worked out great in the end. If this is your first time at the rodeo, just be sure to follow the setup instructions really well and dont try to get ahead of yourself. Remember air flow, air flow, air flow. Also look at the system requirements needed for this card. You will need to use a dual core or quad core processor for this setup. It does need some power behind it. A lot of people are using the cheaper AMD processors which work great, I just happen to have the Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 that I wasnt using, and I thought wow this would work great, and it does. It might be a bit overkill, but I'd rather have too much than not enough. I might add more RAM for a total of 8GB, but it seems to never go over 1.5GB used RAM when running, so I might not even need it. Windows 7 Pro 64bit is the way to go also. Has everything you need. Also look for the Green Button website, its very very helpful to see what others are doing, and to talk to others and see what works for them before you get yours up and running. It made my project smooth and easy. I'm very happy! Now if I could just get my hands on one of those 6 tuner cards I would be on cloud 9, totally cant wait for it! One last thought, my first box of stuff was lost in the shipment by UPS and Newegg was amazing as always getting me another shipment out right away! Newegg has me for life, you just cant beat them hands down! I love Newegg!
Decent Size USB Drive But So Slow

Pros: Good price and large size. Once formatted it comes out to 30GB just like it should.
Cons: As a lot of others have said, this thing is so slow. I have a lot of other flash drives and the transfer to and from on them is really fast, so I was a bit surprised to see how slow this thing actually is. I transferred some shows from one PC to take to a friend of mine, and getting the files on the drive took forever. Getting them off on a different PC took just as long. I was really surprised because its supposed to be USB 2.0 but acts like an older USB 1.0 model. I transferred almost 28GB of files to it, and it took over 30 minutes to do so. Still though the size and price was great, and worked for what I needed.
Overall Review: Like I and others have said it is slow, so if youre looking for a fast one keep looking. I didnt really need one that is fast, was just needing one that is a large size, and it has served that purpose. Was a little surprised though how small it is. I hope that it will last awhile, does seem a little flimsy, but usually for me things last awhile because I take good care of them. I like the little keychain hole and chain that comes with it, helps to keep up with it. I took off one egg because of the speed, Newegg is always great as usual. Love my Newegg! They are the first place I always look for anything.
Works great!

Pros: Good quality! Fits just right where I need it to. Great price and comes with screws.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Got this to mount a WD Black laptop drive that I had gotten someone, and then they backed out on me, so it was mine to keep. Decided one of my desktops needed a new drive so I put it in and it fits great! I like how it has 2 slots to mount 2 drives and I used to top one. I havent seen anyone say anything about the holes predrilled to mount a fan on the bottom, so I'm telling you now, there are predrilled holes on the bottom that fit an 80MM fan in case you have the need and the room to do so. Fits right in the slot with no issues at all. The pics make it look a little flimsy but trust me its not. The drive works great in this, no complaints at all.
Great With Time Warner or Uverse

Pros: Good quality, made of metal not plastic. Plug and play. Small size, fits right on top of my desk. Plugged right in the Time Warner modem and worked right away with no issues. I'm really starting to like Rosewill products. Price is great for what you get!
Cons: I wished I had gotten the 1GB one but thats my fault not Neweggs or Rosewills. I really cant think of any cons.
Overall Review: I actually bought this initially when I had AT&T Uverse. Theres only 4 plugs on the back of their 2Wire router and I needed more, so I thought let me try one of these. Worked right out of the box! I switched over to Time Warner cable, and I got one of their leased modems until I can get my own, and I hooked it up and worked right away with no issues at all. I'm pulling 50MB+ speed thru it from the internet on several computers, Tivos, and an HTPC and it never flinches. Transfers between computers and Tivo's fly like the wind too. I might upgrade to the faster one but I'm trying to think of a reason why, and I cant at the moment. I've bought several different Rosewill products in the past and I'm really starting to like them a lot. By their prices you might think its low quality, but its not at all. At the time I got this I paid a little bit less, but I'd definately pay current price for it or more now. When I got it I was kinda surprised at the quality and how good it is and how well it works. Does not even get warm to the touch either. I'm really happy with my purchase.
Great For Modem/Router

Pros: Got this to keep my modem/router on during an outage. I have AT&T Uverse Voice so the modem has to be on to make calls. If the power goes out then no phone. Got this to use exclusively on the modem/router. When I tested on a full charge, it keeps it going for nearly 3 hours before it goes off. I was really impressed it stayed on that long. The price is really great too. Good quality as well. I like the software you can use on the computer to let you know how long you have left on a charge, also lets you disable the annoying alarm sounds.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Overall Review: Like I said I got this for my Uverse modem/router to keep it going for my phone during a power outage. I'm really impressed it keeps the power going so long. Nearly 3 hours. I like the way its made as well, kinda flat and not tall so it fits real nice on the side shelf on my desk. The price was not too bad as well. I checked the price on the Belkin one that goes with the Uverse modems and it was $129 and they dont last nearly as long as this one. The software is great as well so you can see how long of a charge you have left and also disable the annoying alarms. The last one I had there was a button on the top you could hit and it would stop beeping but this one doesnt have that. There was one little mistake I made, and yeah it was my fault for not looking closer, but only 2 of the plugs on the top are for backup and supply power in an outage. The others are just surge protectors. I was trying to use one of those at first and thought I had a bad one. Was about to send it back to Newegg and then I saw the writing on the top. Newegg is always great with shipping of course.
Super Quiet!

Pros: Very quiet. Blows a good amount of air but not a ton of it. Price is good and so is the quality. Has both a 3 pin connector and a 4 pin Molex connector.
Cons: None really that I can think of.
Overall Review: Added this to the back of my HTPC to add a little extra cooling. Works really great and I cant hear it. Thats what I was looking for. Blows a good amount of air, but not a lot of it if thats what youre looking for.
