Rediculously Cool

Das Keyboard DASK3ULTMS1SI Black USB Wired Standard Model S Ultimate Silent Keyboard
Das Keyboard DASK3ULTMS1SI Black USB Wired Standard Model S Ultimate Silent Keyboard

Pros: - Awesome Feel - Awesome Sound - Awesome Aesthetics - Saves desk space - Keeps siblings and friends off of my computer

Cons: - Shows dust easily (minor) - Thick cord comes a bit kinked up (minor) - Makes it impossible for siblings and friends to borrow my computer

Overall Review: This keyboard is heavy. It's almost like it's built out of actual stuff. My old keyboard was wireless and had more keys and a larger footprint, but weights substantially less. Makes me think that my old keyboard was made of styrofoam. Best of all, it comes with the most effective security feature you can find for your computer, and you don't even have to install it: the near certain inability of those around you to operate a keyboard without looking for the keys. Good luck guessing my password when you can't see what you're typing!

Good Mic Wasted in Terrible Design

Cyber Acoustics AC-740 3.5mm Gold Plated Plugs Connector Single Ear Earclip Headset
Cyber Acoustics AC-740 3.5mm Gold Plated Plugs Connector Single Ear Earclip Headset

Pros: Mic quality out-performs the "gaming" headsets of my friends.

Cons: This headset may have been purposely constructed to fail in every possible manner. The cord is sheathed in cheap plastic which eventually comes out of the connections at the components, breaking wires. I have soldered this things back together three times in two places, and it barely survives. The primary factor hear is that the plastic sheath starts to hold a memory and then resists bending, causing it to stress where it terminates. The wires are impossible to deal with in the case of a broken wire, since they are braided headphone wires, which are obnoxiously thin and easy burn up, not to mention the impossible-to-remove insulation on every single strand. I guess this is a common feature for most audio accessories, but that doesn't mitigate the problems it causes. The ear clip is ergonomically challenged, providing absolutely no real control. Not only that, but it breaks easily, and mine is glued back in place. I'm considering bolting it back in place, since this *****y plastic won't hold glue even when scuffed. The microphone might be nice, but the housing is awful. I do not enjoy talking through a tiny pinhole. If you want to make a directional microphone, make a directional microphone, not a cheap-*** case with a hole in it. The mute switch causes issues on mine, forcing me to unplug and replug the jack after using the mute switch, thanks to a lasting static interference. That's okay, though, because I lost the mute switch after opening the volume control case to solder this broken piece of **** back together. Comfort? You want comfort? Ha. The amount of electrical tape, solder, and super-glue on my headset outweighs the original construction materials, and I feel a did a good job being frugal. If you don't enjoy fixing electronics by taping, soldering, and gluing them back together, you're going to throw away this garbage in a few months of buying it. I paid $25 at a local store for this and now I have to look into replacing it.

Overall Review: I saw this microphone on Newegg while looking for its replacement. I didn't buy it on Newegg, but it's so friggin' terrible that I had to stop to write this review. I have never reviewed any other products, because I don't feel very motivated, but this thing sucks that badly. In case you are wondering, I don't treat my stuff harshly, especially electronics. All aforementioned problems stem from ordinary use, even light use. It's hung up in the same place after I use it each time, it's always used the same way, it never travels with me, and I don't get frustrated at my belongings and abuse them like some people. I often read reviews like this and think "this person must have messed it up and doesn't realize he's at fault", but this is not one of those reviews. Please.... please don't buy this, and please only trust reviews from those who have owned it longest. You're welcome.
