TOSHIBA REGZA 32" 1080p Full HD LCDTV w/ Cinespeed - 32RV530U
TOSHIBA REGZA 32" 1080p Full HD LCDTV w/ Cinespeed - 32RV530U

Pros: Fantastic color and clarity. Extremely easy to setup. Onscreen menus are very intuitive

Cons: Black border is very easily scratched.

Overall Review: Be certain to use an HD source, otherwise 480 sources will be disappointing.

Worked Well...Until

IOGEAR GCS1774 Miniview Symphony Multi-function 4-Port KVM Switch
IOGEAR GCS1774 Miniview Symphony Multi-function 4-Port KVM Switch

Pros: Initially, the device worked as advertised. It quickly switched between computers and appeared to keep a hot connection to each computer. This enabled it to switch to a new machine and immediately work.

Cons: After about a year the primary USB port died. I can only guess this port was used to monitor the keyboard (and the hotkeys that allowed switching). The secondary USB port continues to work, but now I can only switch machines from the buttons on the front of the KVM. The "hot swap" feature no longer seems to work, because it takes 3 - 5 seconds before the keyboard and mouse are recognized. Kind of working...but not as nicely as it did for the first year.

Overall Review: Contacted IOGear support they have offered to replace the device. Unfortunately, that means I'll be swapping cables on 4 machines for 3 to 4 weeks. I suspect that when I get the new KVM I'll be so happy that I'll never complain again.

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-8500C5D
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-8500C5D

Pros: Works fine in a 2GB config.

Cons: Causes random crashes under XP when used in a 4Gb config. After crashes, my machine would go into a state of endless restarts. It would fire up, do the initial drive spin up, and then shut down...just to start the process all over again 3 seconds later. Only way to stop the reboot cycle was to unplug the machine. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 motherboard. In an attempt to fix the problem I updated just about everything (BIOS, Graphics, etc.), but the only fix was to drop back to my original 2Gb. This was very frustrating for two reasons 1) the memory is not refundable 2) I wasted 4 hours on something that should have taken 15 minutes max!
