Yes. It actually says so on the Overview page under Specifications. (Which I never noticed until now.)

PS; as the top critical review points out this will not play nicely if your PC power supply uses Active PFC.

Can you use this surge protector for an entertainment center. I have one for my desk top and was wondering if this would be suitable for a surge protector for my stereo, TV, VCR/DVD ?

Hi DM,
This device is not just a surge protector, it's an uninterruptable power supply.  When the power in your home goes out, this device provides 120 volt AC power to whatever is plugged into it.  There are backup batteries inside this device and an inverter that converts the battery's DC voltage and current into 120 volt AC power to keep your devices running for a short period of time.
The bottom line is that this would be a great surge protector for your entertainment center if you don't mind paying a lot extra for the uninterruptable power supply capability that comes with it.
You may want to look at other high quality surge protectors that may save you some money.

Question 3

How do I check the battery? I have several of these at work and need to know how much life is left before I need to buy new batteries and replace them.

The best way to test battery condition is to do a run time test when the unit is new and then once again after the first year, second year and then each 6 months from there forward and compare the runtime to when new.  I usually replace once it has come down to 75 % of new. For instance, if it ran for 20 minutes ( should be your min time to cover short outages ) I will replace them once the time get down to 12-15 minutes.  I recommend setting the software to shut the machine down when the battery level reaches 15 percent, I have to many issues with hibernate.
