Pros: + Very good performance + Relatively easy to set up as a media bridge + Nice web interface
Cons: - Nothing I can think of
Overall Review: I am using this as a media bridge for a HTPC and a IPTV box. Does not even blink while the HTPC recording two HD channels over HDHomerun prime and the IPTV box is streaming HD content. Setup is quite straightforward for tech savvy. It may be not so easy for not so experienced but still, the web page and all is quite nicely done.
Pros: Very simple install - Before install, had 1 bar signal strength, after install, strength is between 4 and 5 bars.
Cons: USB does not work in extended mode - this is not advertised - only found out after receiving product.
Overall Review: Lack of USB availability is a slight issue, but product was purchased to extend wireless coverage. THAT DOES WORK.
Pros: Dual band, most of the extenders only had a single 2.4 GHz band.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I got this because it was dual band. My Asus router is dual band as well, and I wanted it to be able to extend the 5 GHz band. I have been having trouble for a while connecting to the 5 MHz band for the longest time because my router is in my room mates room and our home has concrete walls. I have to say, I am pretty impressed. The way this router works is it connects to a SINGLE band (you can choose on setup). I connected to my routers 5 GHz band, and it created two wireless signals (one 2.4 GHz and one 5 GHz). Before I got this, the signal for the 5 GHz band was really bad. On my laptop, it was registering at 25%, sometimes even less. The extender was able to pick it up no problem, and so far it has not dropped the connection at all. This extender is expensive, but you pay for what you get. I am very pleased with this purchase. for DLink. Spend more money, get a better made product.
Pros: I got this to use as a media bridge. So I can't speak for this device as a extender or the access point features. The device was easy to set up, at least for me since I was pretty familiar with the GUI. However, for someone that has never set on up before it can get a but confusing. What I did before setting it at a bridge was I change all the settings I wanted such as manually setting a IP address, I don't like dealing with Auto DHCP. I got this unit to replace my glitchy Link*sys Wireless-AC Bridge. My Link*sys one even with the manual IP setting would disconnect and need me to reboot about once a week. So far this DLink model hasn't disconnected or the need to be rebooted after 3 weeks or so now. I use this bridge to bring internet to my home office on my second floor. while my modem and router along with my home server are on my first floor office. Speeds are good, able to transfer my files from my server and PC at a decent speed. While its slower than a direct line it does the job without any issues. Also, I am using all 4 ports at the back and one of them is split to another 8 port switch and with 7 devices connected to this unit, there are no issues so if you need more than 4 ports, you can always hook up a switch to one of the ports.
Cons: None so far, however, set up can be a little confusing if you have never worked with setting up a bridge before. However, if you are using it as a extender or AP, the settings look much easier to setup from what I saw.
Overall Review: I will update the status of this item as I give it time to see if any issues come up. Its still too early to tell at this point.
Pros: I am using this as a network bridge between the main router in my house (on main floor) and my wired network that is on the 3rd floor. The DAP-1650 performs great and only needed to be rebooted once in the year that I have had it. I am getting 4 out of 5 bars and the router and the bridge are definitely not in the optimal positions. The interface is simple and just works. There are more complex options for if you are running this device in other configurations but I do not use them since I am using it as a simple bridge. I get the full speed from my cable modem on all of my wired PCs that connect via this bridge.
Cons: It's a little on the light side as far as weight is concerned so sometimes it falls over if something brushes against it (I have it on the floor). This is not a real problem but I have to include something in the cons box
Pros: My Tech level isn't high but I'm glad I got this, Boosted my wifi signal to 100% for my room and area's downstairs from my room. Without this I was only picking up 50% signal and was hard for remote play on my PS4. Highly suggested pick up got it as a great deal here on Newegg. Easy install as well just follow the directions in the book. Ideal to have if you have a weak signal , great for other stuff such as ipad, tablets, laptops.
Cons: None - So far
Overall Review: I should have gotten this sooner !
Pros: This extender has boosted our wifi range and speed unlink any booster we've tried before. Very happy with the results we're getting!
Cons: The auto config didn't seem to work right. That said, when I called tech support, they had me up and running in no time. Case#C6652988
Overall Review: The agent who assisted me, Agent# AR004217 was awesome, knew her stuff thoughly and had our new wifi humming like bee in no time.

Pros: NO DROPPED SIGNALS! I have owned a number of range extenders and media bridges and have finally found the best of the lot. This is it. I am currently using the DAP-1650 in media bridge mode. Many of the range extenders and media bridges (with the exception of one...the Linksys WES610N) all had serious design flaws and/or terrible range. My Linksys was getting long in the tooth and I needed an upgrade. I knew this was not going to be a fun hunt because I wanted something with gigabit ports, 802.11AC, flexibility, and above all no inherent design problems such as constantly dropped signals or the inability to function on DHCP without messing up the first time the lease on the IP expired from the router. So, I gave the D-Link a shot and I am happy. Typically a media bridge or range extender will manifest issues within 24 hours to 3 weeks. Mine has been up and functional 24x7 for a month with no issues. Here are the enumerated pros: 1. Gigabit ports 2. Simultaneous dual band support 3. Band preference steering (in range extender mode the device will use the best signal from your router it can find and use that one to back haul data to and from your primary network--typically the 5 GHz band) 4. Easy to setup and manage 5. Modern and sleek physical design 6. Physical on/off switch 7. Multiple operation modes (such as media bridge only, or range extender only) 8. Strong receive sensitivity 9. STABLE 10. USB storage support in range extender mode 11. Supports 802.11 AC
Cons: Absolutely NONE so far. I won't even point out price, because quite frankly this type of equipment needs to be 100% reliable.
Overall Review: The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is certainly accurate in this case. My version is H/W: A1 and F/W is 1.02
