Yes, this is an awesome wireless router, You will be able to connect many wireless devices and the router will handle it no problem. It also incorporates new technology levels for the wireless such as farther distance, stronger signals, better error correction and multiple channels.

How do you hook it up can you use it with  comcast router is it hard to install?

It's hands down the best router I've ever owned! 
The Stream Boost keeps me from lagging on games and Netflix.
 
The super simple setup is amazingly fast and simple to understand.

Plug it in connect to your modem and open 192.168.0.1 on the browser you use and go through the setup then your done.

Super simple.

Then you can check back after a few days and see how much of an app your using such as netflix, xbox, pandora, and many more will appear depending on what your using.

It also tells you if what your using is running optimal and how much time you've spent using it.

All in all I love the D-link Dgl 5500 it's everything i wanted and more.

Can someone verify / Confirm is this ROUTER works with 2.4  And 5.0 Ghz feq'ies are SAME TIME ( ie concurrently) ? I called DLink Tech Support; seems the 'super smart teckie" had never heard of this feature ever exiting !!! let along able to understand why/or what "concurrent frequecies' are used for!!..... Maybe they need to 'educate their tech support pple' Not sure if this router can do that - or not. Just want to make sure. Thanks in advance for replies/confirmations.

yes, 2.4 & 5.0 work at the same time.  you'll have two different SSID's.  one thing this doesn't offer is a guest zone, which is, a real let down.

on the 2.4 you'll have all the normal stuff back to b standard, on 5.0 you'll have all the standard stuff and then the new ac standard.  also typical scanning for best channel if you don't want a static channel.

Question 4

How would this router work with multiple other devices inside the house? Also how would it work with games like League of Legends, BF4, and more work?

I'm not sure what you mean by "multiple other devices", but if you mean wireless devices, it works just fine with anything that is 11n or 11ac (plus 11g and lower according to the specs).  I have Apple devices, a Roku 3, kindle, computers, and android tablets all connected and working just fine.  The 2.4 & 5GHz networks get their own SSIDs and passwords.

If you mean to hook it up to another router upstream or downstream, I don't see why you'd have any problems.  I believe it allows changing the necessary settings.

As for how it works with those games, I can tell it works great with all games I've used so far, including BF4.  Game pings increase at most about 10ms from optimal when the bandwidth usage is 100% due to streaming or downloading.  There's a lot of simultaneous gaming and streaming going on in my house, and this router handles it flawlessly.  Only problem I've seen is Steam updates causing a bit of buffering in Youtube HD, but that's fairly rare.

Hey Johnny G, I love this router,, Just ran a speed test on mine.
32.71, Mbps download and 18.90 Mbps upload.  There are many factors which impact the throughput. What I like about this router is the wireless connection speed rocks for me.

How long is the range?

Not very far. I love in a 2200 square foot home and the router is on the south east corner and I don't get reception in the second level south west corner.

How many devices can I have hooked up to it before it starts to have a slower connection speed?

I have had 2 hard wired pc's 2 wireless. 2 iPhones and an iPad  going with no problems I have been to tell- and the pc's we're playing online games.

We have a relatively new technology called Fioptics using fiber optics at the telephone poles then coaxial in the house up to the modem. They use a real cheap Chinese made modem/router for the internet and TV. The router is called IPTV capable.  Is this router capable of running a television setup or do I have to return this and get something different?

In your setup, is your tv connected to Wi-Fi? If so I don't see why this router would not be capable of delivering the speed it would need.   The more important thing would be getting a compatible modem, as it seems you have a combo unit now.  You must contact your provider and see if they allow customers to buy their own modems, and if so see if they have a list of compatible modems.     All that aside, while I own this router and it is far better than any cheap routers I have had in the past. Next time I need a router I think I'm going to research something more commercial grade.
