Can this replace Time Warner wifi router?

I use time warner but only the cable modem.  I want to like this router but it tends to be slower than others I have used (Dlink 655 and airport time capsule)  but the main reason I don't like it is that I does not have a guest wifi channel. There are better wireless routers out there.

Question 2

How is this with gaming, multiple items like a PC, MAC, Smart Phones, Tablets and internet capable TV's and wireless items like Roku and Apple TV?

I have 3 wireless computers, 5 media players (like Roku boxes), 1 server, 2 tablets and 3 cell phones all running through it just fine.  No problems whatsoever thus far.

I see that this is dual band and an AC speed router.  Is this also considered a Gigabit router?

No because the WAN and LAN wired ports on the back are only 10/100base T, not 1000.  I bought 2 of these when they were on sale for 20 bucks and used them at a friends house as extenders.  They work well.

Unfortunately I can't find a guest network configuration.  When I bought it a review said there was but I don't think it does at all.  I have tried to find one several times.

My computer's connected to this router (2.4Ghz) right now, and it shows the speed is 150mbps. Is there anyway to increase the speed to 300mbps as advertised? Thank you very much in advance,

I bought this router as a gift and it is not set up yet.  From experience with other routers, I can tell you that 5Ghz is faster.  The draw back  is  that not all older devices can connect to 5Ghz.

I recommend experimenting with different wireless settings and see which ones give you the best overall performance.  Open two web browser windows with one on Speed Test and the other on the router settings.  Make one change at a time and then check the results. That way you can quickly determine which settings work best for you.

Does this router have a repeater mode or is it AP mode only?

It has both, I don't know how to configure it but the one i have is running t hard wired computers and three wireless devices. Hope that helps you.
