The specs says that its Wireless Data Rate is 1200 Mbps, but later it mentions "up to 300 Mbps (2.4GHz band) + 867 Mbps (5GHz)." My question is which one is the wi-fi speed if I gonna have an AC-wifi laptop and sitting next to it?

Depends on how you configure the router and what your laptop supports. If your laptop supports 5GHz, then that will give you the highest wi-fi speed. Your actual speed will depend on your service provider and what level of service you pay for.

Can I use this router to replace my existing AT&T Uverse internet router?

It is possible that your existing AT&T Uverse Router combines  the functions of both a cable modem and a wireless internet router. IF that is the case then the answer is NO, the D-Link DIR-850L cannot replace the AT&T Uverse router. If however your current AT&T router provides only the functions of providing wireless internet and routing services then YES, it can replace your  existing router. It should be fairly easy to determine. If your AT&T Uverse Router has a telephone line with an RJ-11 jack connection then it is also your modem, if there is no RJ-11 connections then it is probably functioning only as a router.

If you're asking if it can be turned into an access point with one click, the answer is no, however all the relevant services such as DHCP server, UPnP, etc can be turned off to effectively put it into bridge mode. I have 3 of these running in this mode connecting up to a central router without any issues.
