Pros: Compact design, good throughput with USB 2.0 disks.
Cons: The users manual says that if USB 1.1 devices are plugged into this hub, the other ports will operate at 1.1 speed. So it seems that if you want USB 2.0 speed (a must for external disks) you should not plug USB 1.1 devices into this hub.
Pros: Small footprint, USB ports on the front (unlike other hubs I own) which makes it easier to use and it's powered. It's purty! I'll be buying another one soon.
Cons: Nothing wrong with the hub at all. The product description should mention that it's powered though.
Overall Review: I have this hooked up to my Mac Mini because they come with a pitiful 2 usb ports onboard. I have been able to use most of my usb items: mouse, keyboard, external hard drive, camera, video capture. All without problem. However it will not work with any of my flash usb drives. I have four different brands plus my ipod shuffle. Not one will work through the hub. I thought if hubs were powered like this one they would function, but apparently I was incorrect in this thought. Other than that it works great.
New version actually 2 4 ports Hubs5/11/2012 8:16:57 AM
Pros: works in most situations.
Cons: Beware...
The new version (black) is actually two 4 port hubs daisy-chained. 3 ports are from the first level hub and 4 ports from the second level hub. This can cause problems in some cases.
The original (silver/gray) was a true 7 port hub.
Pros: It has its own power supply, although it can run entirely off the computer's power (and versatility is always nice!).
It is compatible with both my PC and my Mac (so, if you were wondering...).
It is brightly lit, with a green light between each port so you can easily see each of them.
It is also very light weight, so it is easy to transport anywhere.
Pros: Work well with Asic miner (yeah i know thats what you want to hear)
Works with Raspberry PI
Got 4 Dlink hub plugged into 1 (total 5)
Running 20 Asics 24/7
Cons: Powersupply is only providing for solid 5 devices (also in the cons) (5*500ma = 2.5A, altho its a 3amp power supply on 5/5 oof these the last device was always going on error so i guess it is not a solid 3A)
Overall Review: Bought 5 Of these to Mine Bitcoins using Asic USB chips.
Working WELL with raspberry PI.
Powersupply is only providing for solid 5 devices (also in the cons)
5 Devices + 1 Fan per hub! Awesome Setup! Buy buy BUY!!!
