There is no way to know, as each physical installation is different.  Here are the major variables:

Distance to the access point (AP).
Output power of the AP.
Structure between AP and the computer.
Type of structure between AP and the computer.
Local in-band interference.

And even if all these things are known, there is STILL no way to know until you try.

Is PCI 2.0 and PCI express  2.0 the same?

PCI is the old standard, The slots are often white and the card faces up when installed.
PCI-E is the new standard and the slots are generally brown and come in 4 or more different sizes.

Even new computers come with the old card slots since they can be shared with PCI-E because one faces up and the other down.
I just purchased a high end Asus mother board and it comes with 3 PCI-e 16x slots 2 1x and 2 old style PCI 2.0. So your computer may have both.

So can I add this to my PC?  It is not a laptop, it is a desktop gaming computer, and if yes... where do I install it?

That's going to depend on your motherboard and the space available. If you have a PCI slot that isn't overlapped by a double wide video card or something, then yes.
