D-Link WDA-1320 Wireless G Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g 32-bit PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: The madwifi project supports this chipset, so it works seamlessly with Linux (just build the modules and load), without using ndiswrapper. I am using Debian Linux.

Cons: Using madwifi v0.9.3.2, the connection quality with this card is not good (20% vs. 60% with another nearby). A better antenna would likely help.

Pros: Easy to install and start using. I downloaded the drivers from the D-Link website and everything has been working flawlessly so far.

Overall Review: Be sure to download the drivers from the D-Link website because the drivers that come on the cd are not the most up to date.

Pros: I am running Vista 64 and setup was a breeze. After plugging it in I installed the drivers (I downloaded the latest one on my flash drive) and this thing works like a charm. Using a trusty WRT54G router I have had absolutely no downtime with this card. The card goes through two floors and gets 4 out of 5 bars on Vista, my wireless monitor says 66% right now. This is a wonderful Wireless NIC for the money.

Cons: None at all.

Overall Review: I have bought D-Link wireless PCI cards before and have had wonderful luck.

Pros: Ubuntu Linux Configured the Madwifi driver automaticly. It was ready to use and search for networks after fresh install. Very good compatibility w/ linux, uses atheros chipset

Cons: range is not that great (range is always bad w/ linux wifi; as far as i have experianced)

Overall Review: looking back i should have just stuck to wired connection considering how close the router had to be anyway.

Pros: Works perfectly out of the box with Ubuntu 8.10 64bit.

Cons: Wireless signal is not very strong compared to a Gigabyte pci card i bought which was able to get more bars from the same distance to my router.

Overall Review: If you run into problems on Ubuntu at all where you are able to get an IP from your router over dhcp but not able to access any websites, then be sure that your router's IP is listed as a nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf . For those wondering this adapter is Atheros based, however I didnt have to explicitly install Madwifi drivers to get it working: Atheros Communications Inc. AR2413 802.11bg NIC (rev 01)

Pros: Solid overall value. Picks up a signal across the house and through the floor. Was Plug and play with Linux Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit. Only said it was 32-bit online and I was anxious that it might not work.

Cons: None yet.

Overall Review: I needed a card that would work out of the box with Ubuntu. I went on their wireless list, found this card and Newegg was giving it away. Works like a champ!
