Hassle-free internet, does not reach full potential 1/17/2019 8:29:26 AM

Pros: Windows 7 detected and installed drivers instantly. This was basically plug and play.

Cons: D-Link drivers are broken, at least for Win7 x64. Whenever Windows loads, an error message appears saying a component of the drivers failed to load. The wireless network manager portion of the drivers works fine. I was only able to achieve 5Mb/s more with D-Link drivers versus Windows drivers.

Speaking of data transfer speeds, this card has only ever managed 20Mb/s (which translates to 2.5MB/s). Over the years I've had this thing in a few different computers with a few different routers and it always only achieves 20Mb/s. Currently I'm using a 300Mb/s connection. I have a wireless N adapter that reaches 90Mb/s and a wireless AC adapter that reaches 280Mb/s.

Overall Review: The good news is that this card has been rock solid and consistent since 2007. It has never lost connection and always has full bars. It is extremely reliable. Still only giving 3/5 for slow speeds and buggy drivers.

Bad connection 12/1/2012 2:51:49 PM

Pros: Cost

Cons: Low range, slow

Overall Review: The range on this is very poor. I have a usb one that is 2 years older and it picks up much better signals.

Extremely versatile 6/24/2012 7:56:44 PM

Pros: Great connection speeds, works fine with pretty much every router I've come across with a decent antenna, and supports all kinds of special features if you are doing security work like recording and injection. If you are looking for a device that will work with airmon-ng, airodump-ng, aireplay-ng, airshark and friends then you're in luck.

Cons: None to speak of unless you are really craving something that supports 802.11n. This one only goes up to G folks.

Overall Review: No need to stress yourself out about the drivers.

Can't complain! 5/13/2010 9:00:25 PM

Pros: Not too shabby, plug and play with windows 7, no discs or downloads required.

Popped it right in - EVGA NForce 780i motherboard in an Antec 1200 case.

Cons: No cons to speak of, it harnesses the internets from the magical pipes in the sky, and channels it to my computer... or something like that.

Overall Review: Not really sure the price range for network cards, i bought this one because of the plug and play with windows 7, and some harsh reviews on other cards I had looked at.. however I believe this card was a little pricey

Got it to connect once….. 12/6/2009 8:37:03 AM

Pros: The only pro for card is it comes with Low Profile bracket. If you need low profile get the linksys WMP600N worth the extra money.

Cons: Card would connect to my network have excellent signal strength, but was sloooooooooow, I am talking five minutes to load google slow. I RMA’ed it the same day I had it went to best buy and got the linksys WMP600N and works great.

Overall Review: Dlink has some good wireless devices; this is not one of them

Win 7 64bit PCI Wireless Card 11/25/2009 5:15:04 PM

Pros: Works out of the box w/ Windows 7 64 bit. Don't install anything that comes with it, just open the box, install the card, turn on the system and windows 7 will automatically find and install the 64bit driver that makes this card work. It's just that simple.

Cons: None. It does exactly what it's supposed to, and trust me, after looking around for a week on the internet looking for a PIC wireless card that works with win 7 64bit, I'm here to tell you, it's a lot more rare than it should be, so jump at the opportunity to pick up a trouble free solution to your desktop wireless needs.

Overall Review: I bought two other cards and returned them attempting to find a PIC wireless card that win 7 64 bit would recognize, because believe it or not, the drivers, even the vista 64 bit ones, did not work.

Works with Vista 64 bit 11/15/2009 5:00:28 AM

Pros: Works great once you get it up and running.

Cons: Getting it to start working can be a little tricky.

Overall Review: At first I installed the card and then tried installing the drivers for it. I kept on getting various windows errors from "corrupt or bad file" for the driver, "windows cannot load drivers", to "windows cannot start device". So as a last ditch effort before boxing it back up and sending it back to newegg as YET another PCI wireless card that won't work with Vista 64 bit...I uninstalled any drivers and software for it, removed the card from the PCI slot, and then reinstalled the drivers again. Then I shut down the computer, and installed the card back into the PCI slot. Powered up, and it instantly started working for me. Throughput and latency to a couple of different bandwidth testing sites and WoW were just as good as if my computer was plugged directly into my cable modem. It's not far from the router, maybe 20 feet and on a different level with 3 walls in between. It says it has a "good" signal strength with a 54 mbps connection. So it definitely works well enough for me.
