- AM5 is the future of gaming cpus and the 9800x3d is the pinnacle of gaming cpus at the moment. - Runs games amazing. (paired with 5070ti) pushing 300 fps on most games and getting 240 on all AAA titles. - Very simple install, however this cpu can run hot because of its crazy power so DO NOT cheap out on an aio or air cooler. I recommend the Lian Li Trinity Galahad, its a great cooler and isn't crazy expensive. the 240mm or 360mm will do you good depending on your case as well.

This CPU will boost to a full 5.4 GHZ. during heavy workloads! It runs a little hotter than my AM4 CPUs, about 14 degrees over ambient, using a Thermalright Spirit 120 SE. But during heavy gaming, it runs about 63 °C, and that is cool enough!

I feel good about having the what is supposed to be the best gaming CPU, but I only game on my 4K display, and Im not sure if its an improvement over my 7700x.

Best CPU for both gaming and productivity so far. Definitely a very good upgrade from a 13th Gen Intel i9 that had instability issues. Doesn't get so hot when multitasking. This thing is fast
- Unlocked K-Series chips are good fun if you want to mess around with your computer. - You can manually set up something that works like Turbo 3.0 and TVB, which are present on the high-end SKUs but not this one, if you use the correct BIOS options. Just requires more work to identify the strong vs weak cores, and an understanding of your cooling limits. - Getting the integrated GPU is great for expanded utility down the road, even if you don't need it today. My i7-4770K will get repurposed into a NAS and the IGP will be super nice for working with that system. - It has Raptor in the name. - The example I got seems to be a decent bin. 5.7GHz all-core at 1.3V or so, some cores will do 6GHz at 1.354V. Stable so far through a significant reliability gauntlet, including Prime95, OCCT core cycling, YCruncher, Linpack, and much more. I'm sure there's more headroom but I settled on something well within the limits for daily usage. - More manageable TDP (181W) versus the high 253W TDP on the i7 and i9. - Can achieve single threaded performance as good as the top SKUs with some work.

I got this item on sale, and it is an amazing upgrade for anyone with older Am4 setup. This runs significantly cooler than my 9700k, and even comes with a cooler. I did not use the included cooler, but it was a nice touch that makes the value even better.
Fast, cheap, low power, great value!

Using this for mostly gaming. No complaints. I got this while waiting for the 7800x3D but after using it for a few months I really see no need to drop additional cash on the 7800x3D. It's maxing out my monitor on what I play. So I'll sit tight with this and see how the 8000 series chips are next year and maybe pull the trigger on that down the road if there's a benefit. Temps are good in an sff H1 with -30 offset. 60s gaming. No issues on framerates on all the games Im playing. Productivity stuff I use doesn't push this chip at all. So no complaints.

65w tdp, but tunable and overclockable. Running it with an AIO watercooler, runs 40-65 celsios typically. Came up immediately with a discrete graphic card. ( I was having trouble with other (similar, used, no graphics cpu , Perhaps it is a simpler initialization when the cpu has graphics? ) It is nice to have the "latest and greatest Zen 5 core., as of 2025 I dabble in performance coding / performance optimization, I wanted the full 512 bit avx512 support featured in Zen 5. This CPU is a price/performance sweet spot.
- Runs cool during gaming and normal tasks. - Great L3 cache. - Run games completely fine.

A quantum leap in performance upgrading from my i7-4790k DDR3 system. Programs load virtually instantaneously. FL Studio with hundreds of audio plugins loads in seconds. All video work, AI, stable diffusion and now OpenSora whenever it's fully available - I'm all ready for it. Currently coupled with an RTX 3060 12GB card.

It's a nice chip. I have a graphics card so I didn't need the K version; the KF works just fine.

This processor is absolutely blazing fast. Nothing short of an artificial load really seems to get close to making it sweat and it feels like it is truly ahead of most processing power requirements. Paired it with a Maximus Z790 Dark Hero, 96GB of G.Skill 6800MHz, and an RTX 4090. I have mine tuned with TVB allowing up to 6GHz and a max TDP of 300W. The whole build runs things like Stable Diffusion at incredible speeds and runs 8Kx4K VR super smooth. The key to managing these chips is to make sure you tune your BIOS to make sure it does not apply excessive voltages which could cause damage, even if not immediately apparent it can become a cumulative thing. They have no business exceeding 1.5V short of record overclocking attempts and exceeding 1.6V can be immediately damaging. I recommend trying to keep voltages to 1.45V or below for assurance of longevity.
-Fast -Great OC capability -Great synergy with AMD products
-Pretty good cpu. -Got it cheap
- Really good match for a budget minded, 1080p gaming build - AM5 platform has a great upgrade path that should be supported for a few more years - Lower TDP than the 7600x - Cooler included in box
