In Network Attached Storage (NAS)

This is my second Synology server. My first one was a DS713+ and it is still going strong. This one has a much more advanced processor, so I expect good things when I install it.

Absolutely a fabulous product along with their easy to understand setup videos and easy to use programs for doing just about anything a NAS can do. I set it up with 3 WD RED Plus 16TB drives in Raid 1 and it works great for my computer backups. The transfer rate seems to out pace my Samsung 1TB 970 Pro. It has 2 ethernet connections for more speed on the network. It works great for backing up all the computers on my network. And that is what I bought it for. Mostly for a bazillion travel pictures and videos my world traveling wife and I take every year.

Awesome NAS for transcoding!! And storage no issues at all just what I needed.

Can remotely log in, copy/transfer files from anywhere. Huge storage capacity compared to my towers 4 4Tb RAID 5 setup.

With dual 2.5GbE ports, and enough performance for transcoding, this server is a big yet inexpensive upgrade from my old HP N54L running Xpenology. So far, the TOS 5.1.145 native Terramaster NAS software seems to be robust enough for my needs.

Good Interface, stable product, great price, good online Video training, easy to setup for basic functions, easy to link to vie home network, TV connections. Quite and good power management.

I was able to replace 2 Raspberry Pi's and a repurposed older desktop with a single compact machine that is SO much easier to maintain. Why did I wait this long?

Automatically recognized the drives from older unit that failed. Didnt lose any data. Easy GUI. Faster unit. Arrived 2 days earlier than initially expected. Enabled Apple Print on my printer, now I have printing for iOS devices.

It just works. And in the computer world thats a big win. Runs as fast as a local hard drive.

Very fast with link doubling. Easy to replace two of SATA 2.5/3.5" disks. Very convenient setup with four M2 NVMe memories. Multiple functionality and apps. Fast USB 3 connections for additional external disks. Very fast internal copy/move operations.
