I have NEVER written a product review before. The scanner compelled me to do so. My wife and I had a scanning job of over 1500 pages that needed done quickly. We began the process with an HP multifunction and were crushed when we found out how slow the product was at scanning and converting to PDF. So I looked for another product and found the ScanSnap 500. Newegg delivered and we started into the project. We did over 1500 pages (almost all 8.5x11" paper) and had 1 jam. The speed is fantastic and the output is wonderful. Clearing a jam is a snap (even though I only have had one jam). (Try clearing a jam with a multifunction, no way!) I had previously owned a Fujitsu ScanPartner 10c. That was a (is) a great product that has also worked just about flawlessly. If you want to convert standard size pages into readable PFD files for a reasonable price, look no further.
