Started using this a few years back. A questionable site blasted through the Virus checker/blocker I was using and deposited numerous gifts of joy on my C: Drive including Ransomware. I turned off the power on my Main Computer, Pulled the C: Drive and installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on my #2 Machine. Then used a USB adapter to scan my C: Drive. After Malwarebytes removed many evil tidbits, I copied Malwarebytes Anti-rootkit program, (still in Beta and Free!!), to the C: drive. Put it back in the Main, fired it up, ran the Anti Root kit.. It remove more fun stuff off. (You need to reboot several times and use both just in case something slipped by). Bottom Line Nothing has made it past Malwarebytes . I still use the other program too, but Malware Bytes is the Primary Protection.
