Great Board

ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2 939 ULi M1697 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2 939 ULi M1697 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Great features, stable, easy to setup, better overclocking options than in the past and very inexpensive.

Cons: Limited voltage options for overclocking.

Overall Review: This is my second Asrock MB and the improvements made since early this year are very obvious. The BIOS is more stable and has more options than I would ever want. I overclocked a 3200+ to 2.2Ghz right out of the box and the board didn’t let me down. Simply put, it works and has a plethora of extras only found in boards costing twice as much.

3rd Best Video Editing Pkg

SONY Vegas Movie Studio+DVD 8 Platinum Edition
SONY Vegas Movie Studio+DVD 8 Platinum Edition

Pros: Great performer - runs smooth! Edits Canon's AVCHD without a hitch. Very powerful piece of software. Plenty of support in program as well as online (many people are using it). Love the interface.

Cons: No drag and drop of media into the program. Does that make sense - or am I missing something? You better have a powerful system if you want to edit HD (I run a E6850 @ 3.4 & 4GB DDR3 and it can get slow with more than 1hr of HD on the time line and running at max review settings).

Overall Review: If you crash a lot while editing HD then your system either is already buggy or you need to upgrade your puter. The ONLY reason I use this program is because Adobe Premier Pro CS3 dos NOT support AVCHD yet and that really annoys me! Anyway, Premier CS3 is the top program, Vegas Pro 8 is second and third is this little package and the only one on the market that does AVCHD so its a no brainer.

Great memory...

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA1065
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA1065

Pros: Very stable, worked right out of the box, took my overclocking without taking a breath...

Cons: None to speak of.

Very nice CPU

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 - Core 2 Duo Conroe Dual-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80557E6850
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 - Core 2 Duo Conroe Dual-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80557E6850

Pros: Runs very cool, even on provided fan. OCed to 3.6 without the slightest problem (w/ Freezer 7 Pro) - max under load is 57C.

Cons: None that I could think of... The only issue I have is one that most Intel CPU's have - bad heat spreader design (tin + concave = not best heat distro)

Overall Review: Have had a PC since 1988 and to date (Intel and AMD) and this CPU has really impressed me! Many people say go with the Q6600 and it is a very nice CPU, however this CPU ranks right next to it at stock speeds 90% of the time... Now at 3.6 it doesn't fail to impress.

Nice board...

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard

Pros: Very well put together, stable, all of what I need w/o the frills.

Cons: Don't like where the power is located.

Overall Review: Overall, a no frills board that doesn't skimp on the important parts.

Pretty good HS

ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP
ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP

Pros: Very easy to install – it snapped in way more easily than the Intel HS/Fan (did it in the case). Took me down 12C from get go and expect another 2-5C after the break in period (IME w/ Arctic Silver 5). Not as big as other HS's. Went with this HS because it is one of the very few good HS's that does not require you to remove the MB.

Cons: Fan and setting pins are plastic, but without taking out the board that is what you are going to have.

Overall Review: Overclocked my E6850 to 3.4Ghz without a problem (max temps - Tcase:55C, Tjuction Core0:48 Core1:46) and stress tested with Prime95 for 6 hours without a problem. If you don't want to have to take out the MB this is one of the best options. Still debating lapping my processor/HS which if all I have read will give me another 8C+ or so.
