Great passive HS

SUPERMICRO SNK-P0048PS 2U Passive CPU Heatsink for LGA2011
SUPERMICRO SNK-P0048PS 2U Passive CPU Heatsink for LGA2011

Pros: Simple, narrow-ILM passive heatsink. Fits perfect.

Cons: Obviously not as effective as an active HSF. Even with a fan baffle directing air from 2 fans directly to it, it still seems to have a bit of trouble with higher clocked E5 Xeons - namely the 1650 V2. The cooling capacity is within spec, but the average temperature floats a bit high for my standards.

Overall Review: If you've got a proc running slower than 3GHz this cooler is for you - zero added noise, fits perfect, and it's narrow ILM.

Great all around MB

SUPERMICRO X9SRL-F ATX Server Motherboard LGA 2011 DDR3 1600
SUPERMICRO X9SRL-F ATX Server Motherboard LGA 2011 DDR3 1600

Pros: Great all around board - IPMI, SATA ports, PCI-e slots, 8 DIMMs...what more could you ask for? Super-stable - as usual from SuperMicro - does not disappoint.

Cons: None at all.

Overall Review: Please note that this requires a 2011 narrow ILM cooler....if you haven't done your research to know that, you should NOT be buying this MB.

Great cooler

Dynatron R27 80mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Dynatron R27 80mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: Great cooler - one of the few decent narrow ILM coolers out there. 4-pin PWM is great - quieter than some of the other Dynatron coolers out there

Cons: None.

Overall Review: If you can't do research to realize that this isn't the standard LGA2011 cooler...you probably shouldn't be buying it.

Great 4 post rack

StarTech.com 4POSTRACK25 25U 4 Post Server Open Frame Rack
StarTech.com 4POSTRACK25 25U 4 Post Server Open Frame Rack

Pros: This is a great rack - built like a tank, yet flexible. The depth is adjustable - which is nice because it helps get this rack to fit in tight spaces. This thing is very sturdy and easy to get together. It is also pretty easy to adjust the depth after being assembled - which I had to do to get it to fit.

Cons: No U numbering...not that big of a deal. The instructions do suck, but it's not difficult to put together at all - the threaded side rails go on the bottom for the middle plates to screw into - everything else is self explanatory.

Overall Review: I had been looking for a rack for some time - I was looking for something more like 20U or less, but this just looked nice and sturdy. It also comes with a bag of cage nuts and screws - I'm not sure how many, but its more than enough to get you started.
