ASUS Eee Pad (Eee Slate) EP121-1A010M Tablet PC Intel Core i5 470UM(1.33GHz) 12.1" Wide SVGA 4GB Memory DDR3 1333 64GB SSD HDD Intel HD Graphics
ASUS Eee Pad (Eee Slate) EP121-1A010M Tablet PC Intel Core i5 470UM(1.33GHz) 12.1" Wide SVGA 4GB Memory DDR3 1333 64GB SSD HDD Intel HD Graphics

Pros: Win7 OS means it is highly compatible with widely used software. The large multi-touch screen is nice, the digitizer is even better. SSD allows for rapid booting. Light weight and thin.

Cons: Win7 OS, have to pay for a MS office license. Not many accessories available yet. The battery life is only 3ish hours. No built in GPS. Lack of touch software for windows.

Overall Review: I love my Slate, I have used it primary for school to take notes on, write reports, surf the net, etc.... I cannot replace my desktop, but that is why I have a desktop.

Weak Mic

OLYMPUS VN-4100PC USB PC Interface Digital Voice Recorder
OLYMPUS VN-4100PC USB PC Interface Digital Voice Recorder

Pros: Its small

Cons: The mic seems weak. I hope that it will pick up the instructors voice clearly. So far the tests I have done with it are a bit disappointing.

Overall Review: I will defiantly have to get some rechargeable batteries.

Replaced a MSI Tomahawk x670E

ASRock X870 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AM5 AMD X870 ATX Motherboard
ASRock X870 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AM5 AMD X870 ATX Motherboard

Pros: - started within less than a min - the bios looks like it might be easy to use, I just haven't spent much time in it.

Cons: - with the new triple wide gpu's installed (at least the ASUS TUF 4070Ti), PCIE2 is not usable. - "If M2_3 is occupied, PCIE2 will be disabled." - only 2.5Gb LAN - Wifi 7 driver for Win11 only (I refuse to downgrade to Win11 from 10), not sure if there is a Linux compatible driver or not. - no linux software available.

Overall Review: If you dont need a lot of extra's (extra hard drive, extra M.2's, Extra PCIxxx slots, etc...), the motherboard seems to be nice. The included documentation is a little too basic for my liking, but the manuals are online. Frankly coming from the disaster that was the MSI Tomahawk x670E (at least for me), the ASRock was more or less plug and play and only changed one setting (boot as I dual boot Manjaro and Win10). The cons are really just me being nit-picky and from what I have figured out is that to get closer to what I want, I would have to go the Thread Ripper route... I don't have several grand to through in that direction. On a separate note, I miss the days where you had to buy each component (sound card, nic, ect...) Anyway, it seems like a decent board, only time will tell.

Works

Zoom 5350-00-00 5350 Wireless Cable Modem Router Ethernet Port IEEE 802.11n
Zoom 5350-00-00 5350 Wireless Cable Modem Router Ethernet Port IEEE 802.11n

Pros: It works

Cons: Little customization available, parental controls are too complex.

Overall Review: I originally purchased this because it was rated fairly high at the time. I also thought the customization would be better, but it is not. I does work though, guess I cant complain about that.

Awesome Fan

Vornado 735 Premium Air Circulator
Vornado 735 Premium Air Circulator

Pros: This fan is awesome!! I bought this fan back in 2001 on the military base I was stationed at. For the most part, it has been running 24/7 ever since. It is very quiet and moves tons of air. If it ever dies, its good to know were I can get another.

Cons: Its a little expensive, but well worth the price.

Great Memory

Overall Review: I use it to store my music and play it on my kenwood car player.
