Just Intsalled, works good for me
Pros: Works as intended, no problems. VPN connectivity is good and it does the job well. No hiccups for me. Netgear will also replace units with versions 1 and 2 with 3 for free. (Well shipping) and it comes with a lifetime warranty. They have a VPN client utility that you have to purchase separately, but it isn't necessary with Linux boxes that I use if you know what your doing. Point to Point VPN works well with other devices when configured properly too. DSL occasionally drops but doesn't cause any issues, replaced that DSL modem and it works good now.
Cons: None, bigger then it looks but that is what the physical dimensions descriptions are for...
Overall Review: Was a little nervous about it since the price and reviews were a little low, but it works good. Replaced a bunch of Linksys stuff at work with Netgear and everyone is happy.
Awsome!
Pros: Fast, inexpensive, rock solid, reliable. Easy to put together, seriously it takes about 10 minutes to plop the hd, memory, and processors in there and about 15 minutes to install and configure everything you need. Love it Worth every penny. Go Supermicro!
Cons: Somewhat noisy, hey at least its cool. FB-Dimms.. ehh...
Overall Review: Installed 2 Xeon 3065's 1 GB Manufacture Recommended Adata FB-DIMM RAM (2X512), 2 WD 160 Caviar drives, used Raid 0, installed CentOS x_64 bit, runs like a champ very pleased. I saved my company some extra money for more toys too so they were happy. Perfect for web hosting.
Wroks Good
Pros: Purchased for a 1u rack mount server works good. Price was right. Runs cool.
Cons: None
Overall Review: WD all the way...
I guess Ill be the first...
Pros: Fast, comes with Rail Kit, inexpensive, reliable, heatsync included, drive trays included, solid construction, easy to assemble, pretty much a Supermicro server what do you expect...
Cons: Cooling fans are a little loud but its going in a server rack with more noisy fans so not a problem... FD-DIMM is a pain, and the drive trays on my recent Supremicro purchases didn't latch in well. Fixed by prying the tab out a little with a screwdriver and it fits nicely now. Heatsyncs were somewhat damaged around the edges but still worked, could have been packaged better. The rest arrived ok.
Overall Review: Initially I purchased the wrong memory, what was I thinking, well ordered some recommended memory for it in pairs and installed it. Fired right on up. Installed 2X512Mb of Adata 533Mhz FB-DIMM's (Has to be FB-DIMM and installed in pairs) 2 160GB WD Caviar drives in raid 1, and 2 Intel Xenon 5110's for it and it runs like a champ. Supermicros site has excellent RAM recommendations for it, works well with OpenSUSE x64 with out any issues. VESA driver used, per usual.
Awsome Processor
Pros: Stuck in a SuperMicro SYS-6015V-TLPB with out any problems. The server is faster then I thought it was going to be, and will make an excellent web server for my clients Sites... Runs cool and has good performance. Running 2 of them with OpenSUSE x64 in there and preforms well for my needs...
Cons: could have gotten away with out the CPU fan and heat sync, but I replaced some others with them so that worked out good.
Overall Review: Too bad they wern't free. I wish some of my Desktops went this fast...
Does the Job
Pros: Quiet, cool and fast
Cons: Non so far
Overall Review: Nice drive, bought as a replacement for a notebook whose drive ate it... Works good and offers more storage WD delivers again.
