Not much , here's the data

HAWKING HSB2 Hi-Gain WiFi Signal Booster
HAWKING HSB2 Hi-Gain WiFi Signal Booster

Pros: Small, EZ setup, can adjust gain

Cons: I just bought an HSB2 with some high hopes and expectations. So far it doesn’t look very good. I setup a test case in my home and here’s what I’ve got: 1: Linksys wrtp54G router upstairs 2: Old Optiplex in my daughter’s room downstairs. They are maybe 25 ft apart through two walls 3: Gateway 614GE connected wired, to the switch 4: The Optiplex has a Novatech 802.11G adapter 5: Network bandwidth ~ 20Mbs Signal strength meter used is Wirelessmon from Passmark Network bandwidth checked with Qcheck from Ixia Initial condition: Linksys router to Optiplex Signal strength -54 - -60dB, meter says ~50% signal strength Bandwidth ~20Mbs HSB2 200mW Linksys router to Optiplex Signal strength -55 - -60dB, meter says ~50% signal strength This is 0% gain Didn’t check bandwidth HSB2 500mW Linksys router to Optiplex Signal strength -47 to -50dB, meter says ~59% signal strength Is it really 500mW? That should be more than a 7dB gain

Overall Review: I will update this (if possible) after more study.
