Cool Cooler; Pardon the pun
Pros: IT'S BIG. It actually cools quite well. Dropped about 10 degrees celsius, when I upgraded from a cooler master hyper tx2. The average temp when under load is about 53 degrees. Back plate is a definite plus. I strongly dislike pushpins for two reasons: 1. It is hard to push push pins in cramped cases. 2. Back plates prevent motherboard flex. The included fan is nice in the fact that it is pwm, so I can control the fan with software.
Cons: IT'S BIG- I was worried about clearance issues, but everything worked out fine. Not the installation process - In order to make installation a lot easier follow these tips: 1. Place the cooler upside down on the table 2. Place the box that the cooler came in about 6 inches apart from the cooler. 3. Carefully lower the upside down motherboard onto the cooler and the box. The box should be positioned near the edge (usb headers, front panel headers, etc.) of the motherboard so that it lies even, thus allowing you to place and tighten the screws.
Overall Review: e8400 @ 4.00 ghz (500x8) 4 gigabytes g.Skill ddr2-1000 Gigabyte ep45-ud3r msi 8800 gts 512 oc seagate 7200.12 500 gig western digital black 750 gig
Pros: -Great motherboard. It can overclock like a beast, e8400 at 4ghz. -Tons of cable and accessories, I particularly like the esata bracket that came with it. Esata cable is a huge plus, I don't get why other boards that have esata don't give you this cable. -Heatpipes and heatsinks actually work. I can feel the heat in the heatpipes between the northbridge and phase controllers.
Cons: Awkward layout of front panel audio connector, have that cable running across the board instead of it near a corner.
Overall Review: Not particularly a fan of the pcb color, but the heatsinks look sweet.
Pros: Huge step up from when I was a using a single speaker. I like the fact that the mic is retractable and can be kept hidden, versus one that can be removed. This means that I never misplace the mic. Keeps your ears nice and toasty =), but you get used to it. Nice long cord length, I doubt anyone would have problems with it being too short.
Cons: Attached volume control is too far away from the headset in my opinion. If it was closer to the chest level rather than arms length, that would have been great.
Asus eee 900
Pros: Dirt cheap ram! Increase in performance is extremely noticeable and is gratefully thanked by the somewhat sluggish performance of the eee 900 series. Free shipping.
Cons: This ram is currently 1 for 2 on the reviews for being compatible with the Asus eee900, although it worked perfectly fine for me. The other review may have just gotten a bad lemon. Shipping was on the slow range of the 3-7 days, coming in at 6 but perfectly acceptable.
