TP-Link Wi-Fi Extender

Pros: Second purchase of this device. Quick and easy setup and works well. No rocket science necessary.
Cons: Nothing bad that I've seen so far in a full year of usage.
Overall Review: Recommended purchase. TIP: To eliminate confusion, use different a SSID when setting up the extender. For example, if your wireless gateway/modem has an SSID of "MY_HOME_5G",, name the SSID on the extender "MY_HOME_5G_EXT" so you'll know what your connecting to.
Wireless security camera - great features, stylish design but terrible documentation and difficult installation

Pros: Looks great, has fantastic features and pivots in all directions so you can mount it in any orientation. This unit was shipped from China which is well stated on the Newegg website prior to ordering. The original delivery time was up to four weeks but I received this camera 10 days after my order date in the Boston, MA area . The delivery tracking is very good, even on the China side.
Cons: Before you buy this, look at the setup/installation documentation if possible. I couldn't find a link to it on the newegg.com site, but I've included the documentation's QR code image. I'm a recently retired software engineer and the minimal instructions are very lacking in content. The setup is pretty much all manual. No wizards or easy steps to get up and running. I'm on my 20th attempt to get this thing to work with the my iphone. It's easy to activate the camera (I used my PC and their SADP software), but that's where the party ends. To use this with a PC, the fact that they tell you to change your PC adapter settings so you can talk to the camera should be an indication of how much the software and instructions are lacking. It is a very new product. I will update this review if I discover any magic bullet.
Overall Review: Right now I would not recommend this to anyone until Hikvision completes some sort of automated configuration wizard.
WHR-HP-G54 router by Buffalo Tech

Pros: Small size for its advertised performance. Documentation is better than some of their competitors for their comparable units.
Cons: Very difficult to configure as compared to equivalent routers by other popular manufacturers. Buffalo's web site claimed this could just about perform miracles with wireless comms, but this unit was a dog, with rapid signal drop-off after 50 feet in line-of-site. Customer service initially gave bad info as to what external antenna adapters were required, so I had to place a separate order for an adapter.
Overall Review: CUSTOMER SERVICE WARNING! This product had very low output right out of the box. After trying a number of times to reach Buffalo Tech's customer service (after a while on hold you get sent to voice mail for a callback), I finally spoke to a tech who had to keep excusing himself and asking his boss what the problem was with my unit. They finally said it needed to be replaced, and xfer'd me to the RMA dept. Had to explain problem all over again and then they said "We'll get back to you by email with the RMA # and instructions. IT'S BEEN A WEEK SO FAR AND NO RMA EMAIL and I can't even send it in to get a new one. This stinks. AVOID BUFFALO TECH OR YOU'LL BE SORRY.
