Most Favorable Review

wow very nice!

Scythe SFF92D 92mm Case cooler
Scythe SFF92D 92mm Case cooler

Pros: great fan. cooled my amd 955 from 44c idle to 36c idle. FANTASTIC PRODUCT!! super quiet

Cons: the power cable is red/yellow/black. not really a con since they are all the same but wish it was sleeved in a black tubing or something. :)

Overall Review: so i'm the first to rate this fan. all i have to say is wow. it is SUPER cool and it keeps my cpu nice and ready for overclocking. i have the amd64freezer pro and i replaced the slow 1600rpm fan with this one. i screw*d the screws right into the fins of the heatsink since the fan on this cooler is proprietary. it's a hair louder than the original fan, hardly noticeable. i can now overclock without worrying too much about the noise!

no black ink beware

HP Deskjet 2530 CB673A Up to 16 ppm Black Print Speed 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality USB Thermal Inkjet Personal Color Printer

Pros: works great. nice and fast and basic for a student. does NOT come with black ink, just color ink which gives you a black that looks blended. you run out and buy a 25.00 ink making this not worth it in the long run. if you're a student, buy a color laser for 299 at your local store (no shipping that way) and the toner will last you MUCH longer. when you have photo's to print, it will look good still just send your other photos over to like snapfish to save ink.

Cons: good for basic printing but not long term use. no black ink. add 25 bucks. to that

ECS is trash - cheaply made

ECS NM70-I2 (V1.0) Intel Celeron 1037U 1.80GHz Intel NM70 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo
ECS NM70-I2 (V1.0) Intel Celeron 1037U 1.80GHz Intel NM70 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo

Pros: This should not be a requirement for a review.

Cons: Where to begin. ECS is a sub par manufacturer. Throughout their history, their products have been made with one thing in mind, volume/price ratio. The more they sell of their inferior products, the less their return percentage will rear its' ugly head. There is a reason why a biostar motherboard, for instance, costs 20.00 more. The components (caps, solder, pwm, I/o board, components, etc) are intended to last longer than the provided warranty period, albeit not more than 4-5 years on I/o boards made today. The worst aspect of the ECS sales model is their rebate processes. Most companies outsource their rebates to a third party to process for them. ECS has partnered with a company called VELOCITY FULFILLMENT, INC. Needless to say, rebates are getting processed. Very soon, in fact, we may see a class action suit gathering steam against both of these entities.

Overall Review: Newegg is an online retailer like any other. It enjoys selling volume to please its' investors, and making profit as any company would. They profit and gain from rebate schemes compiled by manufacturers such as ECS and others. The one thing retailers do not do (like newegg), is stand behind those manufacturer rebates, instead choosing to pass the buck so to speak, to the mfg. for the responsibility of fulfilling it. The mfg. passes the buck to their third party (like Velocity). In the end, no one seems to be responsible and the customer gets hurt. There is enough precedence in our legal system to remind these retailers they will be held responsible when the shoe drops. The rebates, after all, are advertised on newegg's site and is a compelling force in making a purchasing decision for many of us. The responsible lay squarely on all three. Newegg, are have a great reputation amongst online shoppers. Hold your mfg. partners responsible for unprocessed rebates, or you may end up paying for it out of the profits you make when you collaborated in the first place.

ECS REBATES ARE A SCAM

ECS KBN-I/2100 (V1.1) AMD E1-2100 Dual Core processor AMD Kabini (SOC) Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU / VGA Combo

Pros: good price if you actually got your rebate.

Cons: I've been doing business with ECS brand equipment for about 10 years, back when we used to carry their generic laptops throughout the major chain I worked in via a Miami outlet. They are one of the lowest quality products you can buy. Knowing this, and not having purchased anything from them in a LONG time, I figured I'd give this a try, especially with a 24.00 rebate to make this board worthwhile. Well, sure enough, and true to their image, the rebate is nowhere to be found. You can't contact anyone for help, and they just don't care. Please listen to me when I tell you, buy anything but ECS. I will make it my mission in life to get the word out about ECS. It's the only way they'll learn. All my resources, and they are plentiful, will be used to fund a campaign here in the U.S. to get these people out from selling garbage and lying to their customers. It begins now, ECS, your days are numbered.

Overall Review: I defy anyone here to go to their website, and try to find drivers for this board within 5 minutes. It will take you at least 10 minutes to figure their garbage website out, then another 35 minutes to download the drivers from their Taiwanese servers. Truly, China needs to take over Taiwan and show them how to do things. What am I saying?

Seagate Hybrid Drive ST2000DX001 2TB MLC/8GB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s NCQ 3.5" Desktop SSHD

Pros: newegg refunds it but you have to pay for shipping back while ama*z@n covers you on shipping back. newegg needs to learn from these people

Cons: trash. slow as molasses and after a few hours had nothing but bad sectors. when I say slow I mean slow. save your pennies and buy an ssd.

Overall Review: you would think this would fly, but it doesn't. according to everyone out there they are all slow. apparently then the only way to go is with a 120gb or higher ssd for the OS, and a 1tb 7200rpm regular drive for your stuff.

price for performance

AMD A4-5300 - A-Series APU Trinity Dual-Core 3.4GHz (3.6GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W AMD Radeon HD 7480D Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic - AD5300OKHJBOX
AMD A4-5300 - A-Series APU Trinity Dual-Core 3.4GHz (3.6GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W AMD Radeon HD 7480D Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic - AD5300OKHJBOX

Pros: price for performance. low power consumption (if you pay the electric bill) very decent graphics for the price no need to overclock

Cons: fm2 motherboard choices are very limited. they all look like garbage and only like half have hdmi as if it's going away or something. the majority only have vga out. really?

Overall Review: Ok people. This is very simple. Get yourself this cpu and the gigabyte fm2 with onboard hdmi with 8gb of ram. Throw windows 7 or 8 on it and you're all set. With my ssd this thing screams. When I game I don't feel any lag but then again I don't see any reason to crank the settings to 'stupid' or 'insane' If you want more video power throw in a graphics card. You should be doing that anyway for you extreme knuckleheads who no longer play games for the games sake but to see if there is any pixilation on the graphics. ugh.
