Absolute beast at 1080p and solid performance at 1440p

XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT OC White Gaming Edition with 8GB GDDR6 HDMI 2xDP, AMD RDNA 4 RX 9060XT 8GB
XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT OC White Gaming Edition with 8GB GDDR6 HDMI 2xDP, AMD RDNA 4 RX 9060XT 8GB

Pros: All white XFX aesthetic looks great in a matching or contrasting colored case. Card is very well made and has some weight to it that appears to be mostly in the heatsinks and backplate assembly. It performs incredibly well on 1080p content and does well enough on 1440p depending on the game and settings used. 8GB is plenty for most* 1080p gaming situations. Card runs incredibly cool under load, which, while great... tends to increase fan noise more than necessary at default settings (see cons)

Cons: The fans on this card can get real loud, real quick. Even at 15-25%, there is a noticeable fan 'whirr' noise. Adjusting the power limit down by 5% quieted the fans by a noticeable amount to the point they were almost inaudible during light gaming. During heavy gaming with options cranked up, fan speeds above 35% were VERY noticeable. Temps rarely reached above 45 degrees, so there's no need for the fans to be so aggressive? You may need to spend some time adjusting the power limits and fan curves to allow for more comfortable sound levels, depending on your setup and audio preferences.

Overall Review: If you don't mind some fine tuning out of the box and if you're looking for a lower power, but high performance 1080p card or retro/indy gaming on 1440pm look no further. AMDs 9060XT is a powerhouse for a reasonable price. If you're looking for more dependable 1440p and maybe some light 4k gaming, be sure to step up the the 16GB model or look into the more powerful 9070 series (if you can get them at or close to MSRP...) or the Nvidia alternative (be sure to check on the faulty driver situation and make sure it's resolved before you go for the 5070 series)

Most Critical Review

Awesome card made useless with terrible drivers.

GIGABYTE WindForce GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 ATX Graphics Card GV-N5070WF3-12GD
GIGABYTE WindForce GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 ATX Graphics Card GV-N5070WF3-12GD

Pros: The card is solidly built, looks like it has plenty off cooling and offers a solid metal backplate for support and heat dissipation. Initial tests before installing the nvidia drivers were very promising for performance, heat and noise levels.

Cons: After installing the latest Nvidia driver (upgrading from a 3060ti) everything seemed great for about 5 minutes. Suddenly the screen went black and computer restarted to black screen. No amount of rebooting would show any image on the monitor. After 3 failed boots, Windows defaulted to recovery mode and allowed me to boot into safe mode and remove the nvidia driver. After no less than 7 attempts and multiple driver versions, we determined that none of them are without issues on our setup. We combed the forums looking for answers including turning the PCIe x16 slot to Gen4, updating BIOS on our motherboard, updating the videocard firmware, turning clock speeds down, lowering overall power limits on the card, and even disabling G-Sync... nothing worked. We were still getting crashes in game and black screen reboots. We were able to get everything running by installing the pro/workstation version of the driver and setting the power limits to 5% lower and limiting our refresh rates on both monitors to 144hz. I'm not sure which part of this final attempt helped the system stay stable, but we're still terrified of restarting for fear that it won't boot back to the desktop...

Overall Review: I would not recommend this product at this time. In the future, hopefully Nvidia can figure out their driver issues and this will become a solid gaming card. As of now, and after all the forum posts I came across, avoid the 5070/ti/5060 and 5060 ti cards as they all have some type of driver issues on certain setups.
