Very nice HUGE fan
Pros: - So far doing an excellent job of keeping my Ryzen 5 1600x very cool. Not as cool as watercooling, but more than acceptable without the issues of watercooling!
Cons: - The specs says it's AM4 ready. Well NO not out of the box. You can get a free AM4 kit from the mfg, but that takes time you didn't expect. Out of the box IT IS NOT AM4 ready. You must get the brackets for AM4. I seriously thought of taking off an egg due to the bracket, but it works too well and the company gives free brackets.
Overall Review: Just so we are clear this is an ugly fan that work like a dream. Once I got the AM4 bracket installation went pretty easy. Note that if you mount it perpendicular to the video card in PCIE 1 you will likely touch your video card. The shorter mounting brackets are the best in my opinion which puts the fan parallel to the video card. The "notches on the bottom clear your memory but it most definitely WILL be over them. So if your planning on running LED on your memory don't you won't see them. If you must then I suggest a different fan. Again, this is an ugly fan that work like a dream!
Needed new wifi router
Pros: Wifi 6 2.5 gbs port
Cons: Only 4 wired (1 gbs) ports (very minor quip)
Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone wanting to start 2.5 gbs network. Tough you need a switch as the next connection. Overall it has worked quite well. The only wifi6 device presently is my phone. It connects a bit further in my house and definitely is faster. Not next level so, but still quite nice. I'm looking for a 5Gb home network for as many points as I can but here doesn't make too much sense to go 5 as my internet is only 1gbs. Likely to stay that for quite some time.
Silly increase in HDD and SATA SSD speed
Pros: Very nice at the cost point.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: From a HDD and SATA3 SSD speed this is a dream. After mem post I'm like less than a minute until I'm ready to login. Everything happens quick enough you simply don't notice. I went back to my old machine (gave it to my daughter) and was surprised at how fast I had gotten use to the new speed. This is a very noticeable increase over SATA 3 SSD (Samsung EVO 850)
Very speedy and easy to overclock
Pros: - very nice speed increase over the 1600
Cons: - No stock fan in any release.
Overall Review: This is a very decent upgrade from the 1600. My brother bought a 1600 and I got the 1600X. If you need to save a $100 go with the 1600. You still need a good cooler for the 1600X and the extra for the chip were roughly $100. Don't cheap out on the fan this runs noticeably hotter than the 1600.
Very good motherboard for games
Pros: - Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. The motherboard functions perfectly and I'm very happy with my purchase I'm listing this as both a pro and a con There are 2 CPU/Water pump headers and 3 Chassis fan headers on the motherboard. That a lot and yet I could use 2 more chassis fan headers
Cons: - (Somewhat a con) there are only 3 chassis fan headers, for overclockers you may need to look into something off the power supply. (There are also 2 CPU fan connectors that are separate)
Overall Review: Overall this is a great motherboard. Plenty of room and very forgiving. There is a minor pain with the case stand screw on the pci end of the motherboard below the connections. It is entirely enclosed in the plastic that can be a bit of a pain to get in. since there aren't any other components there. It's just a pain to get out. These are the MB to chassy standoff connections on the bottom left - left side of the mb picture. I didn't count it as a con as it is just difficult and you can't really mess anything up there if you use standard precautions.
Nice little starter or job specific
Pros: cheap, reliable little box. Mind this IS NOT a gaming rig. I made one for my step-father, one for my mom, and one for a friends kids. It isn't made for gaming, but is good for surfing and school work. This is a newbie starter computers. It makes a great rig for surfing the net, email, word, excel, and any other office like jobs.
Cons: not upgradeable. What you get is it. You cannot switch chips or anything. But at the cost? you shouldn't need to.
Overall Review: You really don't want to buy an expensive monitor with this rig. You can use your TV if it has a VGA adapter. It might make a good server, but would need more memory G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB (2x2) or 8Gb (2x4) Rosewill RS-MI-01 BK Mini ITX Tower CD/DVD SATA HDD SATA - anything 250+ GB Window 7 OEM keyboard and mouse
