I had to hunt down the UPS guy by car!!!

ASUS MS238H Glossy Black 23" Ring stand & Ergo-fit LED backlight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 10,000,000 :1 (ASCR)
ASUS MS238H Glossy Black 23" Ring stand & Ergo-fit LED backlight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 10,000,000 :1 (ASCR)

Pros: I just upgraded from a 15" CRT to this bad boy, and all I can say is WOW!! It is sleek, sexy, and light. Im a graphic designer who uses photoshop alot, and I have so much more space to work on now, I cant wait to get started on some projects! I thought I had a dead pixel, but it was just dust! anyways, I dont seem to be getting any bleeding, and the monitor arrived,,,,well was seized in perfect condition. The blacks look black, and I actually compared it to a 4 color black, and a 100%k black. looks great, clean and clear, and for the price I have no compliants. ASUS wins my heart over again, lets just hope this thing last, this is my first day after all.

Cons: yeah, the other reviewers were right, there are pretty much no instructions. Thank Goodness I read all the reviews so I knew that the little black part that covered up the ring stand mount was detachable. My desk is mid level, and my chair is adjustable, so the monitor being flush with the desk isn't a problem. It is a little bright, so I toned down the brightness a little, and speaking of that, the touch sensitive buttons do take a little getting used to, but I've had it for five hours now and feel comfortable with them. (its not like you should have to use them alot anyways) I believe that this little sticker that says "splendid Try me" is actually some kinda logo, and wont come off. (plus im to scared to try to peel it off, it seems like its build on there pretty solid) considering im not demoing this monitor, its kinda weird to have anything say "try me" on it in plain day. All in all, I cant find any reason to take off any eggs.

Overall Review: I've built two computers with asus motherboards in them over 7 years, and never had a problem with either, so I decided to buy an ASUS brand moniter. As I said before, I am a graphic designer finishing his last semester of college, and with that being said, I dont have the money to pay for accurate color calibration hardware/software, so if you compare this to some insanely expensive monitor that can perfectly display true color, then you might have something to complain about. But for $200 you are certainly getting your bang for you buck ALSO UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS!!! you can get rid of the black bars by using the overscan slider Im overall satisfied with this product. Thank you newegg, thank you ASUS, and UPS......well I'll leave that discussion for another day.

Does not work with R7 250 graphics card!!!

ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: It sounds so good and purrs like a kitten. I would have loved to see this board work. Neweggs customer service was eggcellent. they took care me like i was at a five star hotel

Cons: Does not work with my Radeon R7 250 graphics card because, and i qoute "may be incompatible with pcie 3.0 graphics card" so i never actually got to see any screen. my gpu never turned on, the fan never even spun. Asus Customer reps did respond to me in a timely fashion. but there reason for my gpu not working defies all logic. they basically said a pcie 3.0 gpu may be incompatiable a pcie 2.0 slot.............ok........but why? they are supposed to be backwards compatible, there is no reason for this, and now i have to wait another week for a non-ASUS board, which really breaks my heart :(

Overall Review: I love ASUS but i am really disappointed. my old ASUS mobo's ramm slots started to go faulty recently, and the board is 6 years old, so i wasnt really mad about that, it treated me well for that long. so i find this fine looking board for a very reasonable price with excellent features. it has very similiar slots and ports to my old board.....IT EVEN HAS A PCIE 2.0 SLOT LIKE MY OLD BOARD, SO THERE SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM RIGHT? well i receive it, stick it in my case with no problems, and when i hit that power switch,oh my it sounds like an angel.......but no screen. it took me a minute to realize my gpu wasnt working, thank goodness i noticed the fan wasnt spinning. i did the normal checkups, used one stick of ram, disconnected the HDD, yada yada yada. i just couldnt get it work. i thought maybe i fried my gpu somehow.... so i took out the new board, and set in my old board....guess what, the gpu fan spun just fine. so then i did some research.... turns out other ppl had the same problem with r7 series graphics cards, and there solution was to put in a second gpu to make the first one work....WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DO THAT!! i dont have a second gpu, and dont feel like i should have to even attempt this work around, or buy anything else sooo...... i email asus about the problem and they simply said that the "3.0 gpu may be incompatible with 2.0 slot"... which is a ludicrous reason, especially knowing my older board has a 2.0 slot, and it works just fine. This seems to me to be false advertising.... i looked up both the ASUS website and Radeon website for this incompatibility problem and found no such information so...... I RMA'd this board. newegg was gonna charge me shipping and restocking fee, but after an incredibly quick chat session, they waived both, props to newegg!!! great service!!! SOOOOO....... i am gonna order a new motherboard tomorrow,,,,,and its not gonna be from ASUS. and this saddens me :( I am honestly scared to buy another ASUS board, even though i really want to!! am i gonna get another board that wont support a card that it should 100% support??, im literally shaking as i fathom buying another ASUS board, cause i really dont want to wait another week or two ... but honestly,,,,,if ASUS had another mobo in this price range, i would probably buy it.....but they dont, so i think im gonna have to go elsewhere. this is really to bad BECAUSE I BET THIS MOTHERBOARD IS REALLY GREAT, but ill never know. so, if you have an r7 series radeon card,,,,,dont buy this board.
